We were with family celebrating a birthday. We started off by tasting some wine, where the young lady serving was very helpful. Good to see they check the opened bottles before tasting. Everyone enjoyed their wines, especially the port. We had lunch upstairs at their restaurant, which had beautiful views of their estate. The food is served Tapas style and... More

And excellent chambourcin. The staff and food at the restaurant were terrific. We were given great service in a very busy establishment.

Friendly staff and dogs greeted us at this cellar door. I liked their Sec Semillon and DH chose their Sangiovese Dolce as his favourite

Found this vineyard and loved the cafe and gift shop which stocked beautiful candles soaps and unique local gifts. The wine tasting was great, really friendly helpful staff made it a real treat, unlike some of the other vineyards this one encouraged you to taste wines you normally might not choose. We were lucky to be served in shop and... More

Calais Estate was the third cellar door that my partner and I visited whilst on a bike tour through the hunter valley. An older woman conducted our wine tasting, she did not treat us with any respect because of our age from what I could gather. She did not take us seriously, and appeared disinterested throughout the tasting even though... More

Call it an education for me. We went there 3 times in the end and purchased alot of wine, really love the place and their products. Outstanding service... More

We visited Calais as part of the ihop tour. We were impressed. Our host, Katrina, was passionate, well spoken, knowledgeable and friendly. She made us feel right at home. The wine and cheese tasting was awesome. Would love to go back to learn more. Was my first time in the Hunter and this was a highlight.

My friends and I stopped here after few hours of cycling around the vineyards in the area. We arrived around 2.30-3pm and ordered zucchini flowers, aranchini balls (stuffed with lamb) and the food tower. It was perfect amount of food for 4 ladies and sitting out on the upper deck in the sun was incredibly relaxing. Not a fan of... More
