We spent a lovely morning travelling up the Hastings River although it is very flat so the scenery was nothing particular to write home about. The skipper detoured through obviously a very expensive housing area but I was not particularly interested and all I could think of was 'Stepford Wives'! It is possible the Ozzies are more interested in seeing... More

I was here last year and ate lunch over looking the River and it was honestly beautiful and so tranquil. Not a piece of litter in site. Was fantastic!

The extent of the water that flows from mountains to sea is huge.. We visited after the heavy March rains and extent of water over that period was amazing. Heading to the mouth of the river watching people fishing of the wall and sighting the amount of fish was amazing.

The rock wall says it all: people come here year after year (some as much as 20- 25 years) and with good reason. Dolphins in the river, it's clean, quiet, relaxing. A very pretty place that hasn't been overcrowded by development.

The river mouth is interesting and the walk along the breakwater is always an attraction to all. There are river cruises upstream during the day and often an evening sunset cruise around. Mostly the river is tidal and only in sustained wet weather does in flow strongly out to sea. At other times, the flow is in or out due... More

Great fishing, swimming or paddle boarding. Im a fisher woman and in my boat travelled from the mouth to kilometres up stream. Catching flathead and bream. Great times!

It was a great day to kayak with calm wind. Luckily found a kayak hire along the cruise terminal - $15/hr. The ladies by the counter are so friendly and knowledgeable (most of them are kayakers too!). I proceeded along the "woregore" in between the Pelican Island (check google map). You can only go there on high tide in the... More

We really enjoy our visit of port Macquarie over Christmas. Morning and evening walks along river is very enjoyable. Fishing is good too. Towards the town beach along the river there are a display of all sorts of art on the large stones. It brings shark and mastery to your walk. Every time you note something new and admire drawings.

Lovely easy and pleasant place to go for a run or whatever, wide paved paths, great views and a cool breeze.
