Neighbor to Currumbin, another of the southern beaches. It is extensive and especially suitable for surfing. Very visited by residents of the neighborhood and surrounding areas who, in addition to surfing, enjoy swimming or walking along the seashore.
Next to it is Raughton Park, which has trails, toilets, showers, a playground and a large parking area.
In that area in front of the park there are some places to eat or have a coffee, however, in this regard, I have found it too quiet for my liking.
I liked walking along the beach and sitting down to drink our typical 'mates', relaxingly enjoying the landscape and waiting for the sunset.

We stayed opposite the beach and swam every day in May. The water was 23 degrees and with sand banks in front we felt safe swimming. With goggles on we saw many fish swimming around. Clean water

We stopped at Kirra Beach whilst visiting Cooly Rocks on Sunday, the beach ⛱️ was great and a nice spot to relax. I was lucky enough to get a carpark opposite the beach as it was jam packed, not too many people in the water. Has a beautiful restaurant located on the corner and clean public toilets.

Picturesque beach with clean, well maintained wide shared walk/bicycle path. The view of the expansive beach from where the footpath curves is wonderful. Lots of eateries along the way.
Kiera has the potential to possibly overtake Coolangatta.

Visited on Tuesday 15th June. We have driven past Kirra Beach many times over the years and never stopped. We were staying at Coolangatta so went for a walk around to Kirra Beach. It's an easy walk, flat and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view.

Kirra Beach is a lovely place to stay. A beautiful beach with a park and great cafes and restaurants nearby. It is quiet and relaxed compared to other parts of the Gold Coast. It is perfect as a base to relax and visit busier areas and the theme parks. Great bus service to Pacific Fair

Kirra beach is a beautiful place if you are looking for some quiet time. The water is crystal clear and the beach is lovely. Very busy place in holiday season but more enjoyable around February when people is back to their normal activities. It is also nice for a walk along the sea, you can reach Coolangatta by walk in 10 min. while enjoying a wonderful view. At night time Kirra is pretty quiet. There are few restaurants but customer service and quality of food is pretty low across the businesses. Don’t be surprised to find reviews of 4.5 on internet but in real what you can get is dissatisfaction and disappointment. For a better food experience proper restaurant quality and atmosphere I suggest to go to Broadbeach!!!

Love going for a swim and walks on Kiera beach. Great views with a cool vibe even in the busy school holidays or on Saturdays the beach isn't to crowded. Great Coast line

A great place to stay. Apartments are clean and well equipped.
100m stroll to the beach.
Close to a bakery, convenience store, cafes and SLSC.
Dawn was very friendly and helpful on arrival.
Would definitely stay here again.

Such an amazing beach for families with little ones. There are waves but also a very calm, protected area of beach, perfect for new swimmers. The sand is magnificent and the water is pristine. People travel far and wide to get this, and we are lucky it’s in our back yard!

I think probably yes but would need to check local council regulations. Where we come from this time imo year implies 10am to 8 pm dogs on lead but that depends on the local rules. Some season's unrestricted.

what is the highway like from coffs harbour to kirra beach
Written October 3, 2019
From Coffs to Grafton the road is not too bad, some roadworks still, which take you back to 80km per hour. Between Grafton & Maclean remains the same where you have to slow down to 50km per hour to go through towns. From Maclean to Ballina is the worst. Roadworks affect the speed limit & the signs range from 40-100km per hour. Once you pass Ballina it's 100-110km per hour.
Written October 4, 2019
Good Highway just north of coffs but roadworks still happening northern nsw.Long stretch of 80kph. Still some bottlenecks around northern rivers. Avoid peak holiday times if possible and enjoy the drive.

How far is Kirra Beach from Surfers Paradise Beach? Is lifeguards patrolling Kirra Beach from 9am to 5pm? Is Kirra Beach close to the border between Queensland and New South Wales Australia?
Written April 21, 2019
Hi there,
So Kirra is around 25km from Surfers Paradise along the Gold Coast highway. Very confident of the distance because I drive it five days a week to work, further north by about 10km, and it's around 33-35km along GC Highway.
Kirra beach is about a 10min walk about 1.5km to the boarder where Coolangatta meet Tweed Heads, amazing place.
Life guards patrol during those times yes,be aware it can be a very calm small waves beach & it can also get 2 to 3mtr very powerful world surf & strong currents in water. Amazing to watch the experts then...enjoy 🌴🌊🌞

I am trying to decide where to stay. Kirra Beach or Surfers Paradise. This is our first trip to Australia. We are driving up from Sydney staying in Port Stephens, Coffs Harbour, Kirra Beach or Surfers Paradise then on to Brisbane, then fly to Port Douglas and Caines. Any Suggestions.
Written August 24, 2018
Personally I don't like to stay in Surfers Paradise as much, it's way too over-crowded and touristy and like Andrew said, the beach is just average anyway. Kirra is much nicer. Also, just to throw it in there, I find Broadbeach to be a nice in between spot also. It's not as full-on and crowded like Surfers but it's at the end of the tram line so it has all the transport links to go anywhere you want (ie. up to Surfers for the day/half day) and not have to worry about parking :)

I'm getting married on Kirra beach at the end of April. Does anyone have any recommendations of a gazebo/ platformedar area to use? I have approval from GCCC

If you are not heading to Kirra anytime soon, try and find the surf cam for the area or google street view on your search engine. This might give you an idea of what's on offer in the area. From memory, the Kirra lookout near the road was huge and would suit a large number of wedding guests. The area is clean and the lookout would be ideal and an easy meeting point for your guests.

What's the usual water temperature at Kirra Beach in June? How much noise is there from the airport ?
Appreciate your answers,
Stephen
Written May 2, 2015
The flight path for the Gold Coast Airport is not directly over Kirra, so not really a problem with noise.
