On a recent overnight stay in Mackay, we visited the Bluewater Quay precinct. It does have a café overlooking the river, but on the afternoon we visited, for some reason it was closed, which was a little disappointing. There is an interesting propeller sculpture in the Quay area, plus some good water vistas from the deck overlooking the river. It... More

Rather ordinary walk, (good for Mackay...but for someone from somewhere with lots of parks...its rather plain) Some facilities there, and reasonably well managed.,..

This is a great ride or walk for locals and visitors to the Mackay area. We do this bike trail most Sundays and finish with a coffee at one of the great coffee houses in the area. Very lucky to have this great trail so close.

Having read the previous reviews we thought we would take an early morning walk, beautiful place, very warm but water dispensers available at both ends to fill up the bottle. Walk between two parks is 2km and on a great path. Well worth a look while you are here

You can travel as far as you like and has plenty of spots to have a rest. Where it runs along River St, there is access to Coffee shops and cafes, Canelands shopping centre and the Bluewater... Bluewater Trail in Mackay is a scenic walk through bushland that is accessed from the free family friendly Bluewater Lagoon! Amazing place to go for a walk, especially at sunrise/sunset! Stunning views.

To do the whole trail you need a bike, however, if you pick your starting points there are a few obvious shorter walks. Lots of people using the trail at all hours of the day. Some geocaches along the trail for those into the sport of geocaching!
