We thought this would be a great place to relax and enjoy our lunch ..... the view was great but the food was not. It's just pub grub. Asked for rare steak and got well done. The S&P squid was bland with a limp salad.

With a spare afternoon in Adelaide mid-week we took the tram to Glenelg for a late lunch. We selected the Grand Bar due to its location opposite the beach and pier as well as the windows which were open to the lovely afternoon sea breeze. Food and drinks had to be ordered at the bar. My husband and I both... More

We were meeting friends and chose the worst place to do so. drinks over priced, bar staff did not know what they were doing and one of them did not know what Heineken 3 was. Food was a bust the mushroom sauce had the consistency of soup

I am from the UK and have spent 6 weeks travelling around Oz. In general I have found the Australians to be very friendly and customer service orientated. That is until we went for a drink at the bar at the Grand hotel Glenelg! Top tip, be careful which side of the bar you wait for a drink, if you... More

Tracy, I would like to personally apologise for the experience you had at our establishment and thank you for the comments. Walked through the area and found his old school pub on a corner. It was busy and full of people and life. Great spot on the beach and lots of things to do around it. Didn't try the food but the plates passing by looked like great pub grub. Classic old school Aussie pub

Love the fish and chips. Crispy batter with flaky fish and beautiful chips. But what made this next level was the tartare sauce. Haven't had tartare this good in a long time. On a warm day is hard to find a seat outside. But if you can it is a relaxing and enjoyable way to have some light meal and... More

Brought friends here from Brisbane great veiw. Lovely staff but waiting time for meal disgusting cut in to our day. If your wanting to do more than sit and wait, go somewhere else. Food pleasant but not worth the time we waited.

If there was ever a time for something to go wrong and not be up to scratch, the Grand Bar hit the nail on the head. After wandering the streets doing some shopping my parents and i decided to stop into the Grand Bar for a relaxed lunch feed and a drink or two, as the place wasn't to noisy... More

When you specifically ask for your dish to be vegetarian I feel like the staff should be able to make sure it is. After taking a scoop of a "dip" and wondering why it tasted off, we figured out it was duck. Bar staff couldn't have cared less with our complaints and were not apologetic. Unfortunately it's the combination of... More
