The Margaret River Golf Club is a private club open to both new members and visitors.

The club is located in the heart of the Margaret River Wine Region, just 5 minutes drive from the town centre, and situated on the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Coastal Ridge. The 6092 metre par 72 course is one of Western Australia’s most highly regarded country courses.

The golf course was created by a group of golfing enthusiasts in the early 1950's in a bushland cleared setting near the mouth of the Margaret River and winds its way up and down the slopes of the coastal ridge.

This spectacular setting is complemented by an abundance of flora and fauna, native and local trees. The resident kangaroos have been a major attraction for visitors, golfers and non-golfers alike for many years.

Although not heavily bunkered, the course features numerous water hazards, mostly on the front nine holes. The back nine in particular requires careful shot consideration owing to the undulating fairways and large trees.

The Margaret River golf course is in pristine condition year round and at its perfect best during the winter months especially. Visitors are welcome but bookings are essential. Clubs, buggies and carts are available for hire at the Margaret River Golf Shop on course, that also stock a wide range of Hire Golfing equipment, Golfing essential and also has a great stock of Golfing Fashion apparel.

The clubhouse offers a well stocked bar and stunning views over the course from the verandah.

Only played. 9 holes. Walked the back 9 holes which is very hilly would recommend a golf cart. Course is excellent although grass alongside fairways could be. Cut. Manager of pro shop. Excellent. Very helpful. Public holiday so no bar or kitchen open.

We enjoyed playing Margaret River golf course and appreciated the excellent service of Jon. The course is quite challenging how ever an excellent opportunity to spot the cangaroos around.

Golf course is in beautiful condition - and lots of kangaroos to see all round the course. Greens are firm and flat, and fairways pristine, challenging but doable layout. Staff very helpful and friendly. We arrived close to our early morning tee time and to help out they delivered our coffees to us on the course! Golfers and spectators alike... More

I have just played the Margaret River golf course. It is an 18 hole, grass green track and what a challenge of golf it is! There is two distinct nines. The front nine has some water, the back nine some slopes. The greens are tricky and the locals say all of them run toward town.......... as long as you know... More

My wife and I had a great round at Margaret River Golf Club. Jon the pro booked us in following an email to him 2 days before we wanted to play and when we arrived greeted us and gave some good advice about the course along with a course guide. This was my first round of gold ever and my partner was stoked that it was able to be at this course. The grounds were beautifully kept and the wild kangaroos and many birds added a lovely feel to the club grounds. The holes were all well maintained and the lovely couple in the front shop were so friendly and... More

Played the course today and found it to be challenging, long and in great condition despite the rain. The greens are excellent and fortunately we didn't find ourselves in any bunkers but they were well maintained. John in the pro shop is excellent and full of helpful advice. A pleasure to play and we hope to do so again if... More

We had a great afternoon of golf here. As a group of two actual golfers and four 'beginners', we really enjoyed the mix of easy and more difficult holes. Special mention must go to John in Golf Shop who was exceptionally hospitable, welcoming us to the course and making sure we were set up with clubs and carts. Would definitely... More

Wow, a great course in beautiful natural bush surroundings on the Leeuwin Ridge, located halfway between the Margaret River township and the coastal village of Prevelly. A delight for players of all abilities. If the golfs bad; the Kangaroos and the view from the #18 tee box are a wonderful distraction!!!!! The fairways and greens were first class, congratulations to... More
