We try to stop at every garden when we are in New Zealand. This one has a special twist in it's use of water in fountains, ponds and waterfalls. The owner (?) greeted us as we arrived to buy our tickets and was a "fountain" :) of information on the gardens. We started our stroll and enjoyed every step. Be... More

We spent three nights here in November at the end of a grand tour of New Zealand. This was the perfect place to recharge the batteries and enjoy the tranquillity of the garden. The two sections of the garden provide different experiences: a pleasant walk to the waterfall for one and a carefully planted landscape with ponds and statuary for the... We stayed at Rapaura Watergardens overnight so the cost of admission to the gardens was included in our accommodation. This meant we were able to explore the gardens after the day visitors had left. We enjoyed walking around the gardens, feeding the ducks and walking to the falls. I liked the statues throughout the garden and the integration of art... More

This is a great place to visit it cost $15 but it was worth it. It is of the beaten track and you can miss the entrance but once you find the place it is well worth a visit. I went in sandals but I think good walking shoes are best. The first part is a very gentle stroll the... More

Took my two young children to the gardens. Lovely walk and good food in the cafe. Admission price for the gardens a bit steep but food reasonably priced.

Not worth the drive from Flaxmillbay. Fortunately it was bad weather, because this garden isn't amazing at all. There were alot of water lilies but all the same and they haven't been that spectacular. The restaurant there, yes is worth the way for a visit. Very friendliy staff and the food was delicious.

Viewing the water gardens was a pleasant experience even on a dull day. A lot of work has gone into creating and maintaining an interesting garden. However the entry cost was a bit steep for what is not a demonstratively great garden.

We spent approximately 4 hours at this beautiful property. Firstly, we walked through the beautifully maintained water gardens and then on up to the Waterfall. There was so much to take in that we often re-traced our steps. The plants, water features, ducks, trees and ferns were all amazing, and we thoroughly enjoyed all. I could tell that there had...
