This small museum is hard to miss,it is in the town Basin and has a massive sundial set in gardens into front of the quirky white building which houses a fantastic collection of clocks from a private local collector. You can sometimes get a deal on the enter fee by presenting a receipt from one of the many shops and... More

Don't miss this attraction after you stop for a Flat White!! The museum is great and historical. See the wonderful collection of clocks and the fabulous tour offered by the volunteers. They will show you this quirky collection of clocks and how some of them work. Before you leave, take a photo in the large cuckoo clock.

We had an interesting hour or two in the Claphams clock museum a week ago. The staff we very friendly & helpful & told us about many of the clocks. My husband is interested in clocks, not me so much but I still enjoyed the display. I particularly loved the music playing machine which the staff started up for us.... More

We had no idea just how much we would enjoy this museum. I strongly recommend that you have a guide as otherwise there is so much to miss and if we had not had a guide we would have left unappreciative of just how neat the whole thing is.Well worth the visit.

If you are the kind of person who is beguiled by beautiful and intricate craftmanship and a lover of historical artifacts then this is a must do. I came here with my three teens aged 11-16 while we were spending time in Whangarei. We were the only ones there, but I understand it is popular with touring groups, so you... More

Planned to stop in as lots of good reviews. Not something you see every day either! We had had lunch at a cafe in the Basin and there was an entry-fee special to Claphams if you had purchased anything at a store or cafe in the Basin that day you get 2 for 1 entry. So that was very nice!... More

There is a big sun dial and the nearby park is the perfect place to enjoy a NZ local hokey pocky ice cream. Good place for a stopover if you are on a self driven tour.
