The jewel in the crown for Whangarei would be an apt description for the Town Basin. It is an attractive Riverside area adjacent to the CBD which features great landscaping and a number of cafes/restaurants and shops/galleries. Always a must-visit when in Whangarei

I quite often eat my lunch down there and watch the Petanque players. My wife and I took our KFC and ate it there We took our grandson there and he just loved the playground, a great family facility

We were visiting with my family and we spent afternoon at Town Basin. It's great for having a coffee, eat and walk with an excellent view of boats. Totally recommend.

Loved the Town Basin. A beautiful development with many yummy eateries. Located beside moored boats with a fabulously casual atmosphere. Well worth a leisurely visit.

Don't miss visiting the Town Basin, it is a wonderful place, so many fascinating shops, cafes and restaurants. Ocean going yachts moored at the wharf. Come and see the start of the Hundertwasser Art Gallery project Te Kakano, it is beautiful.
