The park is located very close to town and has good parking for it's current capacity with around 12km's of grade 1 - 4 trails. Although a very summer dependent park due to it's clay base, some recent work has allowed the trails to be ridden a lot more safely during the wetter months here. A good little park with... More

This park is great for a quick ride, with not a very large elevation it makes getting to the top of the trails very easy. In the winter the clay is rather slippery, but new trails that have been recently built mean that lost of the really greasy clay has been lifted up and turned over for now. Would recomend... More

I took the opportunity to climb up Parahaki Mountain and I'm glad that I did. It was a fairly challenging hike at times but the path is well formed. Fantastic walk up the many tracks that lead you to the top. Very scenic and lots of native bush. The tracks are all named and easy to find. Once at the top the veiw is fantastic giving you almost a 360 of Whangarei and its surrounds. The cave down at the bottom has glow worms if you are visiting at... More

The view from the top of the mountain is beautiful, the memorial area is kept clean and tidy as are all the pathways, well worth a look - take your camera
