We made a detour out here on our way from Greymouth to Franz Josef. Sadly, it had been raining for a couple of days, and due to that, the rain water coming off the mountains meant that we did not see the dazzling blue water...More

Well signposted from the main road into Hokitika and a really pleasant drive. The very short walk to the first viewing platform would be easy for wheelchairs or people with mobility problems and offers a great view. We walked right to the end and it...More

Quite a drive from the coast (Hokitika), including some on gravel road, but well worth the trip. It was raining all the time but this did not dampen our spirits as the views of the colourful waters were outstanding, especially from the swing bridge. Also,...More

An easy walk leads to a beautiful gorge, the water colour is unbelievable!! Really enjoyed our visit here, the swing bridge was slightly un-nerving but I'm not a fan of heights - totally worth getting a little out of my comfort zone to see everything....More

No. A lot of natural places are free in NZ. However, they do have donation box at the entrance. Certain place are really worth to donate to them.
