Quite a blustery say, chilly but sunny. We walked along the rocks until Whalers Bay and then back along the clifftop pathway. We'll worth the time. Lots os seals and seabirds. Stunning scenery.

This is a 3 hours tramping starting from Kaikoura that you should not miss. An excellent protected and wild landscape.

This was one of the many highlights from the South Island. This hike was incredibly beautiful along a lovely path through meadows and along cliffs with great views of the ocean and snow capped peaks. The seals sunning on the rocks was an added bonus....More

Walking all or part of this is fantastic with great views out to sea and lots to see on the way. The wave platform looks great at low tide from up here.

On a sunny day, and probably even on a wet day, the Kaikoura Peninsulas is worth a visit. The Peninsula walkway and a walk on the rocks at LOW tide offer spectacular sights, even after the earthquakes. We visited when the snow on the mountains...More

As above. This is a must do. Spectacular; peaceful; seals; birds I walked from one end to the other as I had a ride at the other end. You could easily walk back again. It is not far

The ocean bed has risen along the coast and it is fascinating to walk along the rocks that were once the ocean floor. Beautiful snow capped mountains frame the ocean and provide a natural setting of abundant birds, seals and splendour.

Not sure about Ohau walkway, but quite possible after the earthquake. The place I started on the walkway was at the Port Kean viewpoint (there's a car park near there to drive up to so you can start the walk). I heard the... More

Hi, I think at this moment you cannot drive the coast road from Blendheim to Kaikoura. You need to drive inside the south Island and drive back to Kaikoura. The walk is free. It take about 3h, depend how far you walk... More
