It is so sad to see this beautiful building in partial ruins. It is held together with a steel exoskeleton with a gaping hole in the roof and birds flying in and out. If you saw it pre-earthquake you will be amazed at the change....More

A lot of steps to the cathedral but it is a spectacular building and worth a visit. We did it one evening and there were a surprising numbers of tourists around.

It's just nearby the city central, very easy to approach. The atmosphere in Church is quiet and holy, but it's pity that I missed the rehearsal when I arrived.

Located on a hill with commanding views of the area. The cathedral is impressive inside and out. well worth putting on your list of things to see.

The cathedral/church is worth a visit. It's not particularly extraordinary, but we enjoyed our visit and were lucky enough to visit it when an instrumental trio was practising for an evening performance. Lovely.

We were staying near the church and wandered through quite by chance, on our way to downtown. What a beautiful place...so quiet and serene. So nice to find a church that is actually open to the public.

This Cathedral is unique . The back of it looks to me to be more modern but the front of the building more traditional . It's massive inside and quite beautiful .

Enjoyed the helpful interpretation signage inside. Enjoyed reading the history publication and also the latest newsletter. It would be a great church to be part of.

As we entered the compact cathedral, the choir began their rehearsal. Very nice timing for us and so good that they keep the doors open for all of us to enjoy. We sat and listened and then quietly looked around admiring the modern stained glass...More
