The provincial museum has a beautifully displayed and informative exhibition on the first floor. The photographic exhibition on the second floor is a nice bonus. The museum is small, but quite enjoyable and also very cheap - just $5 (NZD).

Much can be gained by viewing the permanent display in this museum of world class standard. Visiting exhibitions in the upper gallery are wonderful. Recenlty we visited a display of Nationa Geographic photos.

The historic collection was very interesting and well laid out. The museum is small - but is worth a visit for an overview of the history of this area. The Burgess gang death masks were a highlight!
