We have visited a fair number of wineries in many wine areas, and this one was average at best. The man who completed our tasting seemed disinterested in the role, and it felt that he was not respectful of the knowledge that those tasting brought. I'm our opinion, the wines were not the best of those in Hawke's Bay, or... More

A tasteful sampling room (pun intended) and a good introduction to the family history, plus why the family decided to establish a winery. Learn why we don't get many wines from this region in Australia, then taste them.

This is a beautiful winery set in the converted stables of a horse enterprise. The rustic feel pitted against the modern landscape is a lovely place to while away the afternoon hours. My tour group sampled three whites, three reds, a desert wine and a cellar door exclusive port that was absolute magic. I prefer Syrah and Pinot Noir, but... More

This magnificent winery set amidst horse stables and vineyards was an enjoyable surprise as part of our winery tour of Hawke's Bay. The people here were very friendly and the entire experience was beautifully relaxed as we enjoyed hearing the story of the winery and sampling some of the delicious wines. The ice cream here is also a delicious treat

After hitting a few other wineries on this circuit, i found Ngatarawa the most cosy and family oriented. The young girl who provided the samples was in no rush to push us through the sampling process, which really made the whole experience that much more pleasant. It was a great ending to our wine tasting for the day. Had we... More

The sunny day added to the attraction of this place. We packed a picnic (from the Farmers Market) and headed out here. A great host with the wine tasting. Very accommodating. We purchased great wine, and bought a bottle of cold sav, they were happy to lend us glasses while we sat in the sun, enjoyed the surroundings and the... More

We went here for wine tasting - were thrilled to hear it was free even with no purchase and had a very knowledgeable Argentinian explaining the wines to us. Tasted about 8 of them and then bought some to take home!

This was one of the few cellar doors that did charge a tasting fee. The lady really gave an indulgent wine tasting experience. Some great wines at great prices!
