We did the Bardedjilidji Walk recently when we were in the area and it didn’t take long, there was a longer option but we had plans that night in Jabiru and had already had an action packed day. The rock formations are incredible, the wildlife in the area too is unbelievable, so many birds, like trillions (or possibly less, I... More

This was our favourite walk. We were only able to do a short flat walk from the car park, but the sandy trail is well marked and very easy walking. Well shaded track in places if you walk in the afternoon.

Went on the short walk only as was nervous about conking out in the heat. Loved it. The rocks, paintings, birds, plants, just magic and nobody else was there! My recommended accessories for people such as myself who suffer from the heat is to buy a "cobber" from the information centre, have a hat you can wet and take your... More

We did this walk on an extremely hot December day which was extremely painful trying to combat the 34+ temps & the 200 + flies which swarmed around your face. .. so not a very good experience but I could imagine in winter or spring this walk would be delightful. Bardedjilidji evidently is the local Aboriginal word for walking track... More

This has to been one of Kakadu's great secrets. Bardedjilidji is near the UBIRR rock art site which is the primary reason to travel in this direction. The walk was a real surprise Stunning geology, great scenery thrown in with some rock art. Put it on your list - about two hours needed and take water.

An interesting walk near Cahill's Crossing and Ubirr but very hot walking in the afternoon. The longer walk was closed but we wouldn't have done it anyway because of the heat and also I was feeling a little anxious after spotting a sign warning of buffalo in the area. We came across a dried-up calling card but thankfully no buffalo... More

We visited Bardedjilidji twice to look for the much-sought-after Chestnut-quilled Rock-pigeon, but the work is interesting and worthwhile even for non-birders. It winds past sandstone cliffs and caves before venturing into open grassland and then along the edge of the river, where we had a great look at a big crocodile sunning himself on the bank. The sandstone is home... More

I love this walk. Not many people do it so its peaceful and there is lots of hidden rock art if you know where to look. There are also a few caves to explore. In the cave that you can walk through was where a scene from Crocodile Dundee 2 was filmed. You can also walk along the East Alligator... More

We did a part of the track the Manngarre walk from the bardedjilidji walk. It's alongside the river with 2-3 lookouts towards the river. Where we saw a lot of salt water croc's.The rest is between the trees and you don't see a lot exept for the native forest and a lot of flying foxes. The path is wel maintaind... More

The moment we got out of the car we were pursued by buzzing, biting, March flies. Even though we sprayed ourselves with insect repellent they persisted and I was bitten a couple of times where I had missed with the spray! It did spoil what would have been a great walk, as in the end we rushed around it to... More
