Tjoritja/West MacDonnell NP is a wonderful National Park , that in places is dry & inhospitable and around the corner it's lush & cool with water ponds & abundant tree cover. The many gorges are all different in their own way and most are easily approached. Others plus other attractions like Mt.Sonder & the Larapinta Track require a bit more stamina but are very rewarding in their completion. Enjoy the varied birdlife , wallabies, lizards & other animals in their own backyard. The West Macs are for all to enjoy !…

One of the west side MacDonnell National Park water holes is the Ellery Creek . This requires a 2 x 1.2 = 2.4 km return walk with a very nice water hole suitable for swimming
