Beautiful beach but unfortunately there is almost no sand left, the sea in the Terrenas is unmatched. In La Bonita there are a number of very nice and well decorated restaurants, but the prices of cocktails and piqueos are excessive! A small local beer 8-9 dollars!! More taxes and tips I think abuse a little tourist in the prices!

As you might expect a lot of the ocean front properties are for rental properties, but that doesn’t mean you’re regulated to a small section of the beach. A lot of hotels double as restaurants with lounge chairs for people passing by or looking for a good meal. I have a family of five with the youngest being 6. The waves were calm (this changes during high tide) and there’s plenty of sea animals to keep you interested in snorkeling most of the day. The best way we found to avoid high cost is by parking in a parking lot a few blocks away from the beach. The security guards at resorts will guide you towards them of your not guest of the hotel.

Would be five star if it were not for so many hotels and villas nearby... The water is not crystal clear but it's an excellent temperature. Nice sand. Surfing takes place on the hotel side and the villa side is best for swimming. Grilled fish at hotel prices at Danilo's shack, and too many people playing loud music nearby

Safe and fun beach, water is magnificent and the people are nice and friendly. There are many options for restaurants and activities. Easy to get to. There is public parking but I recommend pulling into a hotel and using their facilities

My son loved this beach so much he asked to go back a second time while we were at Las Terrenas. He loved the waves (although we do not surf). While we were there the waves were really strong and the flag was hung red, so you have to keep an eye out for the little ones. We park at El Mosquito Hotel and get some drinks and sit on the beach. We also like to take a walk east to a little cove area where the waters are calmer for my younger daughter. The second time we were at Bonita, there were a lot of surfers in the water so it was quite entertaining watching them learn.

A beautiful beach, with the eastern part characterized by a small stream that flows into the sea. Behind the beach there are beautiful villas, which unfortunately take up a lot of space with their sunbeds, but there is no shortage of areas to lie down freely with your own towel. There are two bars/restaurants on the beach, in the west area, my favorite is Cayuco, where you can eat with your feet directly in the sand

Much too wavy so not safe for bathing or swimming because of the strong undertow. Good for surfing only. End of beach it is calm. Allot of erosion as well and also not a grocery store nearby if staying for awhile ( remember can't drink DR water) and captive to expensive restaurants

Very quaint community. It has all of the things you would expect. It is s tab bit "touristy" and we are more of private people, but the area seems to attract people that want the same so the inhabitants were very docile.
We only stop here on a break for a bigger day the following morning. There is a very cool B&B in the beach that is an old school bus converted to a small apartment. Genius ingenuity. If you are okay with sleeping in the natural elements, it is a very unique experience.

The beach is beautiful and either well known or more well known as there are many tourists on the beach. The far end of the beach to the left, the water is calmer for young children. The beach is beautiful and one of my favorite places as of yet! Enjoy, however, take with you any garbage you bring or even more, take a piece out with you. It seems the area/island garbage service may need some refinement...

This is a beautiful beach but if you are not staying in one of the hotels you are not allowed to be on the beach. 30 empty chairs on the beach and security said we aren’t allowed to be there.
We were asked to leave the beach.
Pictures posted show the area we were at. Don’t bother, they were rude and disrespectful.

Hi, why did you find Playa Bonita nicer than Cuson? Thanks!
Written June 1, 2019
They are two different beaches.
I love them both, but playa Coson has a "never-ending wild beach", which I absolutely adore.
Stunning for walks ...

Qs?
I see in the pics the restaurant Playa Bonita Kiosko Ramona is right on the beach so there is hot Dominican food available to purchase. 1. Are there other food vendors on the beach?
2. What is the average price for food & drinks on the beach? 3. Are beach chairs available and Is there a price to rent the recliners/chairs?

Hi, my husband and I are looking for a place right on the beach. Could anyone please recommend some places, would prefer a 2 bedroom house but we are flexible. Thanks

We stayed with my sister and her husband at Villa Dorada on Playa Bonita. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach. They are living there until April 15. It is a three bedroom house. It was very nice. It had an outside living area as well as an inside living room.

Bendiciones!!! Dicsulpe la tardanza.

Hi all,
Playa Bonita seems to have both, waves and calm waters. We plan to travel to playa Bonita with a toddler in January/February, currently looking at a place towards to east side of the beach. How is that part? Suitable for playing in the water with the toddler? Thanks a lot!
Written October 5, 2017
Yes, towards the east is a little river that flows in and the beach is very calm here.
