They say Barahona is the best beach in DR and they couldn’t be more wrong (total disappointment). The beaches in Las Terrenas have beautiful water, soft current, clear water and fine sand. It’s just beautiful! Full of palm trees everywhere to provide enough shade. It’s simply beautiful and worth the drive! Will definitely be back.

It is near by the Albachiara Hotel and there are plenty of bars and restaurants facing this beach. I do not recommend Las Terrenas Beach, but this one is beautiful! Make sure to carry your repellent and drinking water because you can find mosquitoes in the whole town 🦟 and the bottled water is very expensive in Las Terrenas (the regular price is RD$15 or RD$20 for 16oz but in Las Terrenas you will find it at RD$50 and RD$60) if you guys get thirsty you will have to buy several bottles cause one wont be enough for more than one person. If coming with children maybe you could bring mosquito nest for the crib, just in case. (I didn’t have to use mine but you never know)

Public beach with lots of lounge chairs available, even in high season. $1.25 each. (this may have been a scam, not sure). Nice setting, lots of shade available too. Beach service available at Afreeka, right next door.

The beach is gorgeous! The water is nice, calm and refreshing! The locals come here and they do charge for the chairs and table.
The best thing is that it is a short walk from the road, so you can cross the street and order food and drinks at your favorite restaurant or hotel.
Good to come with children. The water is calm and of little depth.

We stopped here on our way back from an excursion. The beach is gorgeous! The water is nice, calm and refreshing! The locals come here and they do charge for the chairs and table. If you come here, negotiate as they try to rob you.

Enjoyed a beautiful sunny day at Punta Poppy, a 10 minute walk from Central Las Terrenas. This beach has services available where you can rent chairs or someone comes by and takes your order from the nearby bar & grille. The area has prettier & cleaner beaches, but overall a nice beach.

Just 5 minutes from town so super easy to get there. Not a lot of beach when I went as tide was high but it was gentle water and had restaurants right on the beach. Would definitely go back!

If you want a great beach clean perfect sand on the beach and in the water thats the place. Its in the village of Las Terrenas a quiet little town, the beach is very quiet you might meet some beach dogs very friendly ;)

Very easy beach to hit from DT Las Terrenas. We were running out of time in town so we were able to hit it headed into sunset on our last day there. Street parking, and there IS a outdoor shower to rinse off in if you look for it!

Playa Punta Popy was literally outside of our Airbnb and we initially thought we would just go across the street to sun and sand. Not the case as Playa Popy is slowing eroding. Some of the roadway nestled next to the beach is also eroding as well, reducing traffic to just a single lane. It is a nice vista in which to see the ocean and that just might be its saving grace. It's worth a look but there are better beaches (Ballenas) in which to get some sun.
