If you have any interest in planes, and the part they have played in world and Australian history over the last 114 years - yes, since Wilbur's and Orville's flight back in 1903 - this is definitely the place to visit. Not only can you see about seventy lovingly restored and preserved aircraft, but you can see scale models of... More

A large and varied selection of aircraft to view up close and some to sit in also. This venue has aircraft that are rare and also includes military aircraft in the museum which is great for enthusiasts and my favourite the DC3 passenger plane.

Who would have thought that one of the best air museums in Australia would be located in a (seemingly) small hangar on the Sunshine Coast in Caloundra. This place is amazing - not only do they have a wonderful collection of beautifully restored and maintained aircraft, but the work is all done by knowledgeable volunteers without any government support. The... More

This museum has a fantastic collection of Australian aircraft from the 1930-40s right up to recently including an F-111. The documentation, descriptions and notes are fantastic and there are lots of other displays about aviation history in Australia to look at. If you are interested in planes you can easily spend more than half a day here. Probably good for... More

The kids had such a fun (& educational) time at the aviation museum. They have been nagging to return. The volunteers there really love what they do and it shows. They go above and beyond to inform you about fun facts. An honourable mention to Lisa, she was great and has sparked interest in flying for my daughter. :)

located in Caloundra, this museum has a large collection of aircraft. There is a RAAF F-111 with No. 1 & 6 Squadron markings in the main building. In this building is the reception desk, a small gift shop & numerous displays containing models, uniforms, photos, clipping & other aviation related paraphernalia. These displays commemorate the various Australian airlines over the... More

To see the F111 was definitely worth it . I didn't realize it was so big and in great condition. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours, highly recommend it to anyone even if they're not an airplane enthusiast.

The F111 alone was well worth taking the time to visit this interesting museum. I took my grandson as he loves aircraft and he was in air heaven as he played on the helicopter and the controls of an old airliner. He loved the jet fighters and talked about for hours afterwards.

Well I told the girls "this won't take long!" not expecting too much and almost 2 hours later we left the museum, and our trip was cut short by the insanely hot weather and a thunderstorm. The inside displays cover a lot of history and the outside aircraft were far more than I expected, with a F111 taking centre stage,... More
