About
Sussex Squire Wines is a small award winning Clare Valley producer with a 5 star Halliday Winery Rating. We only sell through cellar door and have no retail distribution as we focus mainly on small production of Dry Grown RED WINES with our selection of one white and 6-8 reds. The line up of wines include the tasting of our premium award winning Shiraz from our Dry Grown vineyard that we manage with organic principles under vine. I produce other single vineyard wines from other varieties that showcase the Clare Valley including Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Mataro, Sangiovese, Grenache & Riesling. Visit our cellar door to taste our selection of wines while chatting to the winemaker and owners Mark and Skye with Milo the Jack Russell winery dog. There is a $10pp tasting fee, fully redeemable on purchase. Please BOOK A TASTING if your group is 4 people + as our cellar door is small and we do have limited capacity during busy periods.(Max Single Group size 10 people).

Walked to this wonderful winery from the Clare Caravan Park. Had to call for a lift back though as the wines we tried were superb so we needed a car to take our purchases back. A must visit location on a trip to the beautiful Clare Valley.

We were travelling around the region recently and happened upon Sussex Squire Wines.
Surprised and delighted would be an understatement. I love a good red wine and their range including the Mataro, the Thomas block Shiraz and the Samual block Cab Sav we’re all highlights.

Driving up I had my reservations. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
This is one of the most pleasant wine tastings I’ve ever had. And I’ve done a few.
Can’t recommend it highly enough.

This winery was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The wines were of good quality and the enthusiasm of the owners for what they are seeking to achieve is fantastic. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Do yourself a favour and add Sussex Squire Wines to you Clare Valley itinerary. Winemakers Mark and Skye have put their heart and soul into this exciting new vineyard and it shows. Thanks guys for a wonderful cellar door experience. We hope you got some decent rains over the past days 💚

This husband and wife team (Mark & Skye), are united in delivering a quality tourism experience with the most exquisite wines (but don’t take my word for it, James Halliday has gold-starred a number of their wines.) We felt very welcomed here and enjoyed the time given to tell us their story and learn of their small batch wines. A production of love produces wines I will be proud as a South Australian to share with my wino friends interstate.

We decided to stop here today as wanted to try a new winery when visiting this region, and was the best decision of the day. From the outstanding service of this family business to the exceptional wines, I cannot recommend this winery more. We bought every wine on their list and will be back for more. Their reds are some of the best I have tasted. A must visit if travelling to the Claire Valley.

Such a beautiful winery, the tasting is $10 per person but can be redeemed on a purchase.
Skye and her husband run the vineyard and Skye took us through the tasting and was so knowledgeable and informative, as well as funny, she managed all the tasting that were going on with such professionalism and warmth, we left with 3 bottles of wine and will return when back in Clare, I wish this family business all the best for the future.
