- FuudTripAustralia647 contributionsWorth a visit on KIOur tour began with a short video about the history and methods of extracting oil, then a wander through their extensive shop. Prices on all products were very reasonable and there’s something for everyone in there! Wandering in further we sat down to a cider tasting paddle ($20 for two) which had three alcoholic ciders, all tasty and very different from eachother and their non alcoholic apple sparkler cider. This area also has an excellent looking cafe, which we didn’t try as we’d only just had lunch before arriving (oops). A great stop for a local product and to spend about an hour.Hi, Thank you for coming and visiting us at Emu Ridge. The cider is so tasty and caters for non drinkers as well. Glad you enjoyed your visit and experienced all we had to offer. - Janet L7 contributionsCafe is a hidden gemThoroughly enjoyed our visit, especially the Cafe which was a revelation and should be promoted more. Rustic and welcoming ambience, the food did not disappoint: damper served with eucalypt infused butter, huge pulled pork burger and the best mushroom with homemade gnocchi ever. Attentive and friendly service. Cool shop offering loads of useful and affordable gift ideas. Thanks so much for sharing and taking the time to leave this lovely review, we are so glad you enjoyed our venue, cafe & of course our chefs gnocchi. - Nerida S2 contributionsGreat experienceGreat place to pop in and see. We were greeted by lovely Maddy who put a short video on of the distillery which was very interesting and a eucalyptus lolly to try as we watched. Great range of products and they had their own honey as well which was delicious and quite reasonably priced compared to other outlets. Ended up buying some other items. It has tours you can do and ciders to try. Lunch menu read well.HI Nerida, So glad you got to meet our wonderful Maddy. We all are a bit partial to the sweets as well. So glad you visited and experienced all we have on offer. We really enjoyed our trip to the Eucalyptus Farm. It was very informative with videos and tours (both self guided and with a guide). Probaby wouldn't need to visit twice, but was very glad we went and were able to see how everything is produced.

A delightful surprise! We stopped in for lunch on our way to the nearby honey farm and are so glad we did. The cafe food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. You can do cider tasting paddles at the cafe - though we opted to buy some to take home instead and likewise these were great. A great place for kids - they have various things for them to play on (eg cars, rocking horse, a tree swing). The shop was also a great place for gifts, with very reasonably priced skincare etc.

I really enjoyed our visit to Emu Ridge, it was a very well organised shop and beautifully presented property with all of the recycled furniture and farm equipment on display. Because we came from a tour, we couldn’t buy many products, but we did buy the honey and eucalyptus oil which were both amazing and of course we wanted more. I absolutely loved the freshness of the eucalyptus oil and when we got home to Victoria, I ordered 2 larger bottles, we use it as part of our laundry washing, floors, diffusing, it’s just so beautiful. My ordering experience was super super easy and I was even more pleased to receive my items wrapped in recycled newspaper instead of harmful plastic. Thanks so much Emu Ridge! Definitely worth a visit!

Friendly welcome. Interesting short video explaining the history of Emu Ridge and eucalyptus oil distilling on KI. Disappointed that the guided tour wasn't available. The self guided tour only took about 10 minutes, although it probably could be stretched out a bit longer (one person in my group was not very interested and seemed to push us along). We thought the self guided tour was overpriced and a gold coin donation may be more appropriate. Interesting art gallery, wide range of products. Warm ambience in the cafe and shop. Wouldn't rush back but take a look if you're nearby and if you know that the guided tour is available.

Hi there, We hope your having a lovely holiday. Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so sorry we didnt live up to your expectations. It is written clearly on our website and at the side of our shop that tours are available 10, 12 and 2pm daily during the school holidays, we are sorry you missed these times. Other wise tours are for group bookings only. We hope you found our free video and presentation informative. Our self guided tour is just to help cover the cost of our huge insurance for you to see where we produce our oil and the self tour book. $3.50 an adult and $2.50 concessions and $10 for a group we think is very reasonable but we appreciate your thoughts. Happy holidays. Kind regards Bev

The wife and I were visiting The Island for a quick break and emu ridge eucalyptus was top of the list. Last time we we were here we picked up a fantastic tub of emu oil (fat) that did wonders for my dry back.
The visit sparked a trip down UG chemistry days to debate if an emu is capable of producing an oil or if it is actually a fat. Would also love to have the video extended to see the extraction process.
The range of products that utilise oils extracted from native flora and fauna is extensive and they are of high quality.
Adjacent to the distillery is a Cafe which has excellent food and caters for a variety of dietary requirements. Food ranges from Asian fusion salads to burgers (some also with Asian influenced flavours).
Emu Ridge Eucalyptus - 5 stars
Cafe - 5 stars.

We visited Emu Ridge on Tuesday in very cold and wet conditions but the Emu ridge team made us feel very warm and welcome .
From the minute we walked in we were warmly greeted .
The knowledge and passion of all the team from the front end to the cafe is something you should all be proud of .
Don’t hesitate to visit if your visiting KI.

Wow, very interesting, the staff were fantastic, the self guided tour is interesting and worth the effort. The manufacturing factory wasn't in operation but is all there to see, great selection of natural local products, the prices are good, try the cider tasting plate. Well worth the time

Emu Ridge is a family run business. I had a tour with the husband Larry, who is one of the last Eucalyptus farmers. He explained how he made the Eucalyptus oil. Once I was in the shop there are alot of local products to buy. The have Eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil, emu oil and honey. There is also a small coffee shop. I had lunch there. I was on a tour so everyone had the same, various salads, beef and/or chicken and cake for dessert. There were vegeterian options as well. There were also emus, kangaroos to look at
