Take the Port Campbell Discovery Walk along the beach or above to view the surrounding areas. Really great to hear those thunderous waves crashing and feel the spray. We spent a lot of time in the rest of Australia during our drive around the fair country but needed more time here. Next time we will start in Victoria and explore... More

The Great Ocean Road leads to the highlight "The 12 Apostles" and other landmarks strewn along this stretch. Check out the huge waves at beach levels and overviews, hear the thunderous sounds of waves against the formations. Great view and even better in photos.

Great view from the lookout overlooking the town of Port Campbell. Easy access for disabled. Also a path and stairs to the beach.

The 12 Rock Cafe has great view of the harbour, try the crab & prawn fritters. Good lunch or dinner close to the 12 Apostles.

The town of Port Campbell has an amazing beach site that is so peaceful and beautifully blue. Just go for a walk on a nice sunny day and enjoy the wind and fresh air this place has to offer. The town has a coffee shop so you can enjoy a coffee while walking. A must do if you are heading... More

Because the river was quite high, I chose to go the 'long way' to the start, by road, but this only adds on 25 minutes from the hostel or other central places in Port Campbell. (Or you can drive to one of the carparks at either end). If, like me, you are worried about heights and therefore are not sure... More

Further to Mark's review: you can easily access the town end entrance to the walk from a small car park overlooking Port Campbell. A very short walk on a well formed trail and down a short series of steps and you're onto the Discovery Walk. Then... enjoy the views - particularly east, along the coastline to the 12 Apostels. If... More

This 4km return walk can be accessed from the beach at Port Campbell and from the scenic lookout 1.5km west of town on the Great Ocean Walk. Be mindful of tide times if crossing the mouth of Campbells Creek to access the walk (particularly during winter and in big seas.) Tide times and friendly advice are available from the Visitor...
