This is the bay from where convoys of ANZAC soldiers left for Gallipoli and the Western Front during the Great War - many landed on the beaches of Gallipoli and never returned, which makes this an evocative place to remember them. Various view points out over the sound give a perspective of just how big it is and the tranquil... More

Where else can you go where the sand is so white its almost blinding! The water is cool and crystal clear and sometimes you may even see seals and dolphins. This is the perfect spot for young children as the water is not very deep at the shore line. There is a lovely view to the islands and passing by... More

besides a magnificent view you can picture all the WW1 ships positioned awaiting collection of troops and horses in 1914/1915, the memorial lookout at the War Museum pin point the anchor points for the ships in King George Sound, it is a lovely meandering drive around the sound to take in the beautiful sights and pristine blue water.

This view is spectacular . You would never tire of it. From the lookouts you can see the entire Sound, and any ships in it. Amazing indeed.

King George Sound is the outer harbour and makes up the bulk of the water area around Albany with Gull Rock national Park to the north and Torndirrup National Park to the south. There are numerous beautiful beaches and a number of interesting islands. The whole area is as pretty as it gets.

It has some magnificent sea and coastal views and on a sunny day is the best to see it. Even if you just drive slowly and take in the scenery.
