Nice statue of heroic Naval dog. He was a true WWII hero. Have your picture taken with him while you're in town.

Of course any dog statue will get rave reviews from visiting Brits - but this one has a great war record too - already detailed by previous admiring reviewers and worth looking up. And, another plus point - he was said to like his pint...More

Worth a quick stop as you walk past this statue on the way from the dock to the town. It’s right outside the Tourist Information / gift shop. You wouldn’t make a special journey to see it, but it’s a nice tribute.

The statue of Bamse is the very first thing you see when you get off of the cruise ship and it is certainly worth a photo stop. It is in front of a large souvenir shop . The shop has books about the Bamse.

A plaque nearby explains Bamse's popularity and lifesaving activity as he worked to free Norway. He saved lives, took the bus unaccompanied to retrieve wayward shipmates and bring them back to the boat. Quite a dog! His statue in Honningsvag overlooks the bay and is...More

It's the story behind the statue that holds the interest. If you are going to Honningsvag the statue is close to the dockside and information office.

The Bamse statue is located in front of the TI office. It honors a WW II war dog that served on a navy ship. The statue is a popular photo spot. The story behind the statue is available in the gift shop. Hope this helps.

I guess if you are a huge dog lover this is a good place to take a photo. You know this is a small town when a dog statute makes the top ten things to do. That said if you go to the tourist center...More
