Lovely statue paying tribute to an amazing dog. He is buried in Montrose, Scotland. The story is told on the notice nearby. Located right at the port.

Loved the story about Bamse. A furry Naval Hero. Check out the little store just behind him. If getting off the Cruise Ship be prepared to wait a few minutes to get a photo of him...we grabbed one on the way back to the ship!...More

The story of Bamse is interesting when told by a tour guide. The statue is conveniently located near a store that sells books in multiple languages about his heroics. If you go there when a cruise ship is in town, be prepared for the jostling...More

This large statue is a focal point in the area where the cruise ships dock. It sits near a shop where souvenirs are available. Good opportunity for a photo!

We came across this gorgeous dog when our Hurtigruten ship Midnatsol docked in Honningsvag, so of course out came the camera and we just had to take a picture. Sadly to say, I knew nothing about this animal at the time, but I checked up...More
