Perched on the highest point in the village (of course) is this spectacular chapel where everything is finely and ornately decorated in blue mosaics and tiles. Well worth the visit to see some Portuguese art and history combined. Definitely a hidden gem. Please check when...More

We saw many churches in our trip to Portugal but this small church was overwhelming an the entire church enveloped you in blue tile. Well worth a visit.

I have visited the Igreja de Sao Lourenco a few times and would classify it as absolutely gorgeous. Nowadays you have to pay to go in, which I refuse. To me a church is a place of worship and I want to have the liberty...More

Historical hand painted tiles all over a pretty little church. Worth getting an idea about this part of the history of the Algarve.

As with most places in rural Portugal, check the opening hours. Plan on long lunch breaks. As such, we were only able to see the exterior (which were impressive) and were disappointed we could not see the interior.

The impressive interior is worthwhile a visit, but unfortunately one is not allowed to take pictures of the artistic craft. Means you have to store the memory in your naturally given hard drive.
