- Chloe A4 contributionsBeautiful DiscoveryBeautiful caves! It was easy to find, a very good parking and area to wait for the tour to begin was welcoming. The tour was informative and the guide lovely. We were amazed by the beauty of some stalactites, the shapes and sizes of them. Please be informed most of the pictures are the ones on the exhibition hall, they are from other levels in the caves and not what you see during the tour. The museum is really a must do, well organized and interactive! Learned so much and the kids too!Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten March 4, 2024
- Aman D4 contributionsgreat experience and fascinating natural creationFirstly, the tour guide, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was great. He was engaging, aware of the group's positioning for visibility, knowledgeable, personable. The tour itself was fascinating and a must-see for anyone looking for a natural wonder and something interesting. It gave us an element of nature to awe at. The tickets were available at the taverna and the wait wasn't long. We waited for the English tour which was in 20 minutes from the time we got there. It seemed like the tours were scheduled quite regularly. Given that the cave maintains a mild temp of around 16 degrees C, I'd recommend an extra layer should you get a little chill in the cave compared to the outside heat.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten May 17, 2024
- Linda Sutherland7 contributionsWell worth a visitThis is a fascinating cave, made all the more interesting by the commentary from our very well-informed guide, Savas Katsaros, who is a caver himself. The tour of the cave takes just under an hour. Tours occur at intervals of about an hour. There is a cafe near the cave entrance, in case you need to wait. It's easy to get to the cave, provided you notice the (rather small) sign in the village of Kapsia. Kapsia itself is on the road betwen Tripoli and Levidi; it's a good road and easy to drive on. If you are coming via the motorway, Kapsia is about a 10 minute drive after you exit the motorway. The rules you will need to observe are: (1) No flash photography in the cave, and (2) Don't touch the rock formations. (Smoking in the cave is probably also forbidden, but I'm not a smoker and wasn't told anything about that.)Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten July 29, 2024
- TrippelmorOslo, Norway32 contributionsReally worth a visitIt was really a pleasant experience. We arrived to the Greek-tour only, but the guide arranged for us our very own English speaking friend to tag along and translate. The caves are beautifully arranged for tours in small groups and the guide gas knowledge and also entertainment skills. Thank you!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 13, 2024

Unacceptable!!! They didn't have anyone to book the tickets and they made us wait 1 hour in line and when the tour guide came half an hour late she put a group in front of us waiting in line and let everyone else out and told us to wait another 2 hours. The worst I have experienced at an organizational level.

We went in early December and we were the only visitors. The caves are wonderful and our guide was very good and explained a lot about the history of the place. The lighting was very good but maybe the ‘atmospheric’ music, although not loud at all, wasn’t really necessary. If you’re heading across the Peloponnese then it’s definitely worth a slight detour to visit these caves.

Went all the way from Athens with my family on Monday, 4th of July 2022...unfortunately found it closed. Despite that it says Open 9am - 3pm Monday - Friday ... Make sure before going all the way there that it is open to visitors. Also called the number given on internet but no response...

We visited the cave in late August and our experience was excellent! The cave is one of the most beautiful in Greece its colors and the formation of stalactites is one of the most impressive!! But what made our experience more special was the Savva tour! Not only in terms of knowledge but also in terms of politeness and understanding of my husband's motor difficulties! Thank you very much Savva

Beautiful place, so impressive! The tour guide (we had the lady tour guide) gave us a detailed tour of the cave. The kids loved it and are still thinking of what "animal scultures" they were able to see in the staliktites designs! Must visit if in the area! Excellent 'kid friendly " approach to the entire tour...and super interestong for adults too

This is a must see for anyone staying in Tripoli or driving through. An amazing cave with superb natural formations, the first of its kind studied and mapped in modern Greek history and currently by global standards, one of the top 10 caves in Greece. The facilities for the guided tour are brand new and easily accessible for young and old. The tourguide is very passionate, a great story teller and so informative. Also a fun playground for the kids sith unique equipment, cafe and restaurant! Enjoy it!

Savvas was such a great tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and very humorous and kind. I have visited a few caves in Greece before but by far this was the most interesting and joyful one. Great for families and only a 45min tour which was perfectly doable with a 4 year old.
Highly recommend!
