beautiful area, not at all what you think Arizona should look like. More like Colorado with alpine meadows, glacial lakes, spruce and aspen. The hike follows a trout stream with opportunities to get down to the water. Hiked the trail 9/18/2016 (Sunday afternoon). Only saw...More

My girlfriend went up to Pinetop-Lakeside to have a relaxing weekend. Escape the city and completely chill in the small mountain town. We hit a few art fairs, stopped in a few antique stores, and went 100% Zen on this trail. Very relaxing and not...More

Probably the best trail I've done in Arizona. We took the stream-side trail out, turned around and about midway out found we could climb up to the road. It's a bit rocky and was muddy in places but you walk in and out of beautiful...More

Despite the fire damage in the surrounding hills from a few years back, this is a beautiful hike along the Black River. The river (more of a large creek this time of the year) is lovely, there are abundant wildflowers of many varieties, lots of...More

A beautiful trail along the creek, the summer flowers were in bloom. The dogs loved it and only net one other couple along the way!

All of the trails in the White Mountain Trail System are great--well maintained, very well marked, and--in my experience--scenic. If you're in Pinetop, try any one of them. You could start with the Billy Creek Connector to the Blue Ridge Trail. Take a hike!
