We were the only people on this trail the entire time. It was very easy going for the first one mile and then we took the spur called the "Huff and Puff" to the Pat Mullen overlook. We were a bit disappointed that the view...More

Great little 3 mile loop around the forest, and even better if you add the optional "Pat Mullen Spur" which takes you up .5 mile to a viewing spot on a hill and back down to the loop. Please note, if you do take the...More

Lovely meandering trail through the trees. A bit muddy in places due to recent rains, but well marked and well maintained. We will definitely do this trail again. Note -- Forest Service, maps, etc. say this trail is 3-1/4 mile loop -- my Fitbit clocked...More

From the Lakeside Ranger Station, travel south on AZ 260 for 5 miles. Turn left on Bucksprings Road, left on Sky Hi Road (FR 182). The trailhead is 2 miles ahead on the right at the junction of FR 185. The trail loops through a...More

Another one of our go-to hikes with our dog. Easy and beautiful walk through the ponderosa pines!! Elevation is never an issue here.

A lovely, easy, self guided hike through a ponderosa forest. Just a lovely 3.5 mile stroll. Not challenging, but lovely

We use this trail frequently, and always enjoy the scenery. Our dogs love it, too. You can make it a short walk, or a long one. The trail is suitable for bicycles, and is not overly challenging in elevation, etc. It's beautiful and different in...More

We hiked this trail in cool overcast conditions. The big pines were lovely and the trail was not difficult. Do not bother with the short trail up to a summit, no real view.

I like this trail in the afternoon after the early morning seniors have had their walks for the day. Make sure you don't wander off on the connector trail or you'll in for a long walk. A moderate hike you can do in less than...More
