For a small museum, this one has done a good job of recounting a variety of stories from Woodstock's history in ways that captured our interest. The range of stories spans the arts, sports, politics, architecture, community service groups and more in this two floor exhibit. Admission is free so there's little reason not to check this place out if you are in town; if you don't find something of interest, you can always just leave. My reason for not giving it 5/5 is that the museum, while well curated for a small city museum lacked some of the more interactive elements we've seen increasingly in small towns. Right now the museum is limited to one style of display with descriptive panel boards to read repeatedly through every area, which would be augmented if they could occasionally have questions for discussion or reflection, or a video, or....

I visited with a couple of family members who had grown up in Woodstock, though hadn't been through their museum before. Judging from the numerous nostalgic memories triggered by the displays I have to give credit to the staff's excellent job showcasing their history. For an outsider I still enjoyed many displays. The penny-farthing bicycle, quiz game, restored civic chamber, and historic area map especially stood out. Farming heritage is well represented and given concise but informative descriptions. The museum is small and can be thoroughly enjoyed in less than an hour, but varied and interesting enough that I'm glad I had the chance to see it. The surrounding grounds and old part of town are also well worth exploring.

Visited a number of years ago so thought we'd stop in again. The museum includes two floors in a historic downtown building which once held the Council Chambers. The exhibits are well-thought out and visually appealing. The captions are very good in describing the historical significance of the photos and artifacts many of which focus on the founding and early industrial era of the town. Also includes a good collection of early indigenous artifacts. Admission is by donation. Well worth a visit. Only issue on the day we visited was that the elevator was not working .

This museum is well worth a visit. The exhibits are well laid out thematically as one peruses them from room to room and in the interconnecting hallways. Interesting!

A pleasant park area with walkway up to the Museum. In the spring and summer the gardens are well kept . The Museum has interesting seminars and varied exhibits.

Stopped in over the Christmas holidays with my Aunt. A lot of children were going through so it was a little noisy. I enjoyed seeing some history, especially of the buildings and businesses. My Aunt said I have a relative who is a past Mayor but we could not find the right plaque.

We went to this for an escape room Macgyver Style. It was fun. We did not beat the time, but it was fun. Not sure what we were doing in beginning, but once we started to put things together. We just ran out of time.
