Wonderful dinner with a lovely view on Waiheke Island
Dinner with an amazing view over Auckland and the bay. After a day on Waiheke Island we booked dinner in the bistro which is more casual than the restaurant. The sun was setting over the bay and we first enjoyed some wine up on the roof terrace in the beautiful lavender garden. Dinner was great with choices of meat or fish dishes. The bar was surprisingly slow to deliver wine during the meal. The staff were very friendly and ordered us a taxi down to the ferry after our meal. A very enjoyable experience.

    Incredible food and wine!
Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant was an awesome experience! The location overlooks the ocean and on a clear day has beautiful views of the rolling vineyards and Auckland skyline. The food and wine are high end and delicious. We ordered the beef filet and duck and loved every bite. We also loved our server Rachel, who was extremely friendly, attentive and knowledgable. It's easy to see why this restaurant and vineyard is #1 on Waiheke island. Highly recommend the trip!

    Go to Batch Winery instead
This is a beautiful vineyard. It was filled with young people taking photos for Instagram. The view was nice but if you want a great experience at a winery for grown ups go to Batch Winery. Much more beautiful, better wine and less "influencers"

    Beautiful Scenery and Great Staff
Beautiful views from the hilltop of this winery. We had heard a lot about Mudbrick and it was our first stop on Waiheke Island. The staff was very friendly. We had a tasting in the cellar and really enjoyed the Chardonnay. You could take your tasting glass and walk around outside enjoying the vineyard. It was the perfect stop on Waiheke.

Wonderful experience, exquisite food and wine pairing menu and accommodating for special family occasions.
Couldn't rate the service and help enough for Mudbrick. We were there to celebrate a birthday for a very short weekend, having traveled over from Australia and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. On arrival we were even greeted with a glass of champagne to add to the celebratory experience. Our 9 year old boy was with us and was included with his own menu, whilst we enjoyed the fantastic experience of a wine pairing menu. Each course was a taste experience, with the staff being highly knowledgable. Despite it raining that day, it beautifully enveloped the vineyard with a peaceful and calming blanket. Truly wonderful.

On our wine tour of Waiheke (Wacky Island) this was certainly the best of the 3 vineyards we visited, so glad we came here last. Set in a most impressive uphill location, it was well laid out & the bar/dining area/garden patio, drinks area were all fitted into the terrain most sensibly. Must say I did like their wines although they were somewhat over priced compared to the prices back home in the UK. Shame. However, they did let me taste their premium Pinot Noir which had an outrageous retail price. Preferred the wine as opposed to the cost !

We had a wonderful wine tasting here, and were encouraged to take our time and enjoy the surroundings, which is exactly what we did. The rooftop seating has spectacular views, as does the Archive restaurant outdoor seating. The wine is lovely, the food is excellent. The grounds are beautiful, and worth taking the extra time to enjoy.

Some vineyards are better than others; Mudbrick Vineyard is one of the more up-market destinations on Waiheke the Island of Wine. The vineyard is on a sloping block overlooking Huruki Bay; the gardens are impressive. Mudbrick Vineyard not far from where the ferry pulls in at Matiatia. The wines are very good. A tasting fee is charged, which is refunded when you buy more than a certain value of wine.

Booked for 8pm slot as offered and arrived on time. We were seated and waited a full 20 mins before water was brought to the table and orders taken.

Our entrees arrived at 1 minute to 9 and five
minutes later we were asked to hurry up and finish our entrees because the kitchen was closing and our mains were ready.. 2 mins later my main course was hovering above my head while I bolted down the last mouthful of my entree. My plate was whipped away and main course plonked down in front of me.

We had cocktails to start and would have liked to order some wine to go with the main course but figured we’d have finished the food before the wine arrived so didn’t bother.
We were a party of 7 and in a mind to enjoy our
dining experience. I admit the food was delicious but the service and attitude were amateur. To be told the kitchen was closing was just unprofessional and plain rude..

We live on the island for the summers and the rest of the year in Provence.. Never have I experienced a kitchen closing at 9pm.. heavens, most of Europe only gets going at 9pm.

Don’t offer tables at 8pm if you want to send the chefs home bang on 9pm.. Maybe you’d be better off as a lunch time venue only ..

The staff were welcoming on arrival & seated us perfectly to enjoy the sunset experience. The food selection was well balanced and priced fairly, we chose the both the platters on offer & they were delicious. The waiter suggested a wine that would suit our meal & she was spot on. Would highly recommend & wouldn’t definitely go back again!

After eating at the Bistro and having a glass with our meal, we headed round to the cellar door for a wine tasting.

We drank some great wines, learnt what is meant by “oh that’s a great year” which I generally say whenever I see a wine label, understood optimum vine growing conditions, areas across NZ for growing particular grapes (comparisons to France for aid/context) and answers to whatever questions came up from this absolute wine novice. Felt truly guided through the experience by an expert.

Not just a wine tasting, you’ll learn things here too.

What a great spot to watch the sun go down at the end of perfect day. The wine was amazing, the view spectacular and the sunset was unbelievable. Mudbrick Vineyard is in the most amazing position and very popular from the amount of people that were there. Highly recommend it to anyone.

We had a private tour. Cost $150 for 2-10 people. There were 9 of us. About the tour: The guide was great and took us for a stroll around the vineyard and told us the history. Quite step in places and very hot in the sun.
About the “wine tasting.” We were given a thimble size taste of 3 different wines, Piont Gris, Rose and Malbec Merlot. All the bottles had more than half the wine remaining which was taken away at the end of the tour. No discount for buying wine, which other reviewers mentioned. Felt completely ripped off. For the price, the opened bottles should have been left for us to enjoy.
