Definitely a high caliber of skier on these trails.... but friendly... definitely the least experienced skiers we ran into... great learning space and beautifully groomed trails.... signage was slightly confusing (as compared to scenic caves) but the loops were well thought out and beautiful.

Beautiful outdoors activity center for X country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The trails are well groomed and the location is pristine. Very easy and convenient to drive in from any direction. Only a short distance to local towns for lodging or food. Quaint cafeteria with great home cooking and fun staff. Everyone working here makes sure you are... More

My wife and I did a private lesson at Highlands Nordic and had great time with our instructor Andre. He was a great teacher and made us feel very confident on the trails. They also make a mean grilled cheese and have amazing views of Georgian Bay if you do the S-Climb to the top of the escarpment.

We recently visited Highlands Nordic for an afternoon of cross country skiing. The trails were groomed, the snow conditions were great and with a bit of light snow, it made for an enjoyable afternoon of cross country skiing!

Not the ideal conditions but that's hardly the centre's fault. The trails are well laid out. What stood out however: I have no idea how a rental centre can rent out ultra narrow, wax, skating skis to a novice. Would it not be safer to rent out wax less, wider skis, and reduce chance of accidents? With the fast conditions... More

Highlands hosted the 2015 OFSSA X-C meet. The course was the best X-C course I have seen in years. If the course is this great in the fall the winter skiing must be the best. There are plenty of hills and flat trails.

The trail system is not vast but it is plenty for this recreational skiier. The trail conditions have always been groomed to perfection whenever I have been there. Larry's Glacier is such a fun downhill run and the climbs are just enough to make you feel you have done something. There is a really nice vibe to the place.... there... More

Highlands Nordic is a decent resort. The XC ski trails seem to be better maintained than the snowshoe trails, though. Trail fees are inexpensive. Sections of the snowshoe trails need better signage. Try the homemade soups!

Highlands Nordic is our home ski club, so my bias has been declared. Friendly staff, well-groomed trails and good services. A range of trail options for beginner and advanced, pulls available for infants, sit skis for less-able bodied skiers and 15+km trails in a beautiful forest. Higher elevation means continual, great snow!
