About
Dyment`s Farm is located on one of the highest, most scenic locations along the very edge of the Niagara Escarpment overlooking Dundas, Hamilton and beyond - it is a magical place to visit. The farm is an unforgettable setting for life`s big events, holding weddings and other celebrations from May - October. Our farm market is open year round selling fresh foods such as our pies and butter tarts, our tender steaks, or our colourful fruits and vegetables. The farm is open to the public on weekends during the month of October for fall activities and pick-your-own-pumpkin. Glen Drummond Farm was purchased in 1887. Since then five generations of Dyments have called this spectacular property home.

Was there today. Waited in line 3 adults and 1 child. Was told we couldn’t go in together. Woman was very rude. Pie prices were outrageous. Went to Dutch Mill instead. Everyone was super nice and pies were reasonably priced. Will never go back to Dyments again. Amazing how one person in a bad mood can wreck your day. Thanks for nothing.

We are sorry that you did not have a good experience, and certainly do not tolerate rudeness from either side (staff or customers). Unfortunately, with COVID19, there are new rules in place to keep everyone safe. We are only allowed a few people in the store at a time (legally, by law) so we ask - especially when it's busy - that only 1 member per group goes in (and it looks like you visited on Thanksgiving weekend - by far the busiest weekend of the year). This allows the line to move much quicker as we know people do not like waiting in line, and it allows us to have 3 - 4 different customers in the store at one time vs only 1 family of 4 people shopping together. We wish it was different and that we weren't working around a pandemic, but we do have a responsibility to keep everyone safe and follow the law. That being said, our staff should never be rude and we are sorry if it came across that way.

We went on a class trip.... So we were with groups of families with young children. Mrs. Dyments's herself was extremely rude to my family. At the end of our tour... I wanted to take a picture with their pallet pumpkin... Mrs. Dyment told me my time was up and my tour was over and I needed to leave.... That was when I stated my mother and my daughter paid separately from the school... And we just wanted one picture.... this is all in front of my young daughter ( who wanted her picture with the pumpkin) I was told it didn't matter and I had to leave right now... That was when I had another staff member pretty much follow me almost to my car... Apologizing profusely and stating if I come back this weekend I will be given free things at the store (such as popcorn) I made it very clear after being spoke to like that in front of my child because I wanted to take a picture of what I thought was a fun experience... That my family and I would never come back. After all this event and I heard about mrs. Dyments chch interview...pretty much stating how these two weeks are the worst because they have no privacy.... Why would you live on a farm and do pumpkin season for your business and then say things like that and treat people like that.... Maybe it's time to retire.

First of all, thank you for coming to the farm on a school trip and we are glad to hear that you thought it was a fun experience. The school tour programs are one and half hours, led by a guide. When the tour is over, we do require guests to leave as the tour concludes - whether the school paid or you paid separately, it is for the same program and same duration. We do offer weekend visits to the public on Saturdays and Sundays in October from 10 - 5 where you can stay, play and wander at your leisure, taking as many photos as you would like. The comment about the segment on CHCH is untrue, that clip is available online for anyone to watch. The comments made were that there is a concern about privacy and setting boundaries (unfortunately many people sneak onto the property, ignore business hours or program structures, and get frustrated when they can't treat the farm as a public park - this is happening to many locations in the Dundas area). Mrs Dyment then continued to say that while at the end of October we are glad to have it just be a home again, during October we are thrilled to see all the little children and people who visit! So to answer your question: that is why we live on a farm and do pumpkin season for our business. We believe in sharing our beautiful home with others in hopes that the majority of people will be respectful of our programs, hours and the property - which many are.

Local Dundas farm bakery with some of the best baked goods in town. We came for the pecan butter tarts, but left with loads of other goodies - peach pie, steak pie, quiche, etc., etc., etc.! Took their good advice and went on a balanced diet - an absolutely delicious butter tart in each hand, haha... Freshly baked peach pie was so good we nearly finished it while sitting outside the shop, but the pièce de résistance, the one thing that would bring me back again, and again, and again - if Dyment's just wasn't SO FAR from where I live, is the chocolate pecan whiskey pie! I can only pray they will ship overseas one day (or if they could kindly send me the recipe, pretty please?)!

This just warmed our hearts!! Thank you so much - your words are very kind and mean a lot to us. The chocolate whiskey pecan pie was one of our favourite creations out at our market and bakery, so it's wonderful to hear someone enjoys it so much!

I and my family have been buying corn here for 30 plus years. As not too many places sell truly great sweet corn this has been our destination to purchase our many dozens of corn to put down in the freezer for the seasons to come, where only it seems cattle corn is sold in the supermarkets as sweet corn. We will be sticking with Dyments thanks very much.

Three comments. Corn far too small with no flavour and expensive at 0.90 cents a cob really?? Butter tart had way too much pastry the star in a tart is the filling but hardly any and the pastry was dry. Lastly the date square don’t bother... dry crust and the what should be crusty top was raw I think. Far better place to go.

Hello, thank you for your comments - although it is disappointing to hear that you didn't have a great experience at our market, we do always find feedback valuable! In regards to the corn, as farmers it has been a really tough year - all the rain we had in the spring made planting very delayed - the corn you had at our market this week is the first corn offered of the season. It is young corn which is why it is small. As the summer goes on, the corn will increase in size and flavour. That's mother nature's call and unfortunately, not much we can change. A lot of work goes into farming and we appreciate everyone who supports farmers and buys crops from our market - so thank you!

My sister introduced me to Dyment's shortly after I moved to Dundas in 2017. A great spot for baked goods, steaks, meat pies and produce. The staff is always super friendly and the store is stocked with fresh local favourites and some prepackaged treats. We love the rib eye steaks, butter tarts and chicken pot pies. Service is friendly and staff always offer to help out with questions and suggestions.

Hot Dyments up for their butter tarts and pecan pies. The chocolate whiskey pecan was killer, worth the price ~$20.
