I was tanking east towards Semarapura from Denpesar and needed a break and saw a road off right with a filter and traffic lights so I took it. Gianyar was signed left. I entered a Hindu festival celebration with the long curved bamboo poles, Penjors, lining the route from the traffic lights to the brow of a low rise where seating areas had been constructed. Very beautiful, I had seen them lining roads before but this was particularly impressive, must be an important site? I carried on to the beach that opened out into a wide area with paring and a view warungs for drinks and snacks. It was high tide when I got there so couldn’t see much of the beach but what struck me was that it was beautifully clean, I couldn’t see any plastic waste! (Unfortunately on Bali it’s been one of my biggest disappointments.) The whole coastal defence was in good repair and with care, you can walk along the top of it. The waves were strong and coming in at right angles so it wasn’t a good day for a swim. However I was so glad I visited it really is an impressive beach not far from the highway c 3 mins but far enough away so your not aware of it. Overall I would recommend a visit if you are in the area or as a good place for a break. It could be a good beach for a swim, my Periplus Travel Map if Bali certainly shows it as one. I stopped at a view beaches along the south east coast up to Semarapura and this was the nicest and cleanest.

This beach does not allow to swim (unless you are an expert swiming), since the waves hit on the rocks, but the black sand is beautiful and the sound of the waves is astonishing.
Tourism is not developed here, so you will find a very quiet place.
