Fortunately we have the leaflets that were handed to everyone...at least i can see what the act was all about...honestly, the acting and costume were bad...mind you, the entrance fee costs 100K rupiah per person...

This dance is very different than I had expected. It is not a song and dance show but a play. Many residents of Batubulan are performers and although there are many shows , they all seem to have a similar theme. The play was basically about a fight between good and evil . The dancers are dressed in costumes of... More

We really didn't know what this was going to be, as it was incorporated into our day tour whilst up to Ubud. We were thought we were going to see something authentically Balinese / Indonesian but lost interest very quick, especially when references kept being made by one of the characters about Lady Gaga and at another time making a... Our day trip driver took us to this traditional dance and we did not know what to expect. We sat on bamboo chairs in an open air amphitheatre at a temple and watched an hour long display of a traditional Balinese dance story. The costumes were stunning, actors and dancers skilled and the orchestral hypnotic in their playing. We had... More

We went to watch Barong & Keris dance as a part of day tour. The show was below average. Initially, we had no idea what was going on. Pretty sure, that was the same case with the majority of the tourists sitting with us. Afterwards, we read the leaflet. However the story made little sense. Performance & costumes were not... More

Barong Dance gives you a unique chance to get familiar with Balinese culture from it mythological and religious perspective. The ongoing fight between good and evil spirits taking different incarnations is amazingly depicted with professional actors and actresses. I highly recommend this show during the first days of your stay in Bali so that you have a clearer picture of... More

Cost 100000 per ticket. The dance is for an hour and I found the rate too expensive. The place was open air and had a roof with fans . Music was live and got bored after 5 minutes. Could not appreciate the dance or the music. It is a very popular one and I suspect the drivers have a huge... More

We drove from Kuta and reached the the venue of the cultural performance of Barong and Kris dance at Jalan Pakesan in Batubulan. There is an admission ticket and show, performed in open area in a spacious shed ( for audience) is quite popular with locals and tourists alike. The dance cum play is based on a folk story of...
