We took a side-trip to this winery on our way to Placentia ,wondering what a winery in Newfoundland would look like and what quality of wine it could produce . We were pleasantly surprised by what we found . We first took the wine tasting session and in fact it was more than wine tasting since we got to try... More

Discovered this winery quite by accident, but enjoyed the experience. The tour was interesting, although the winery wasn't in operation. Tasted a variety of wines made from local berries, and enjoyed conversation with the hosts.

I doubt that the fact the winery is located in what used to be a hospital but... the wines all had a medicinal taste to them. This is the first time I've ever visited a winery and not purchased anything. Summer students working as guides led the tour of the wine making facility and were quite knowledgeable about the winery.... More

I wanted this to be good, so I hope they make some improvements soon. I've visited wineries in California and Ontario and this is very different. The building is an old hospital and while that history is interesting there are old hospital items and it is just wierd - doesn't really go with the winery experience. It would be best... More

The tour is very enjoyable and the wine tasting quite generous. The building is the former cottage hospital and the history of the building is evident and many photos and information of its former life is quite interesting. We enjoyed our visit and picked up a delicious bottle of their Pear Brandy! Certainly worth a visit!

The tour of the winery was very informative. We were not fortunate enough to have the winery in operation when we visited, but the guide made the walk through quite interesting. The wines we tasted were so good that we went home with three bottles!

I've been holding back on this review as I contacted the Winery to deal with the Groupon I bought for a winery tour for two. Since they have not decided to write back for whatever reason I'd like to take this opportunity with everyone my families experience. The e-mail: "On my families recent experience to your winery I was not... More

Visited the winery on July 25th for a tour and wine tasting. The staff are very knowledgable about the process and the area. We were able to sample the wine, brandy and vodka. I would recommend either the black current or raspberry wines. It made for a nice day trip.

After reading other people's reviews below I am wondering if we are talking about the same place?? We stopped by here on the way back from the Cape of St. Mary's and I must say that it was not good- no tour for us- I guess it was almost closing time? If you have ever been to a winery before,... Took my S.W.E.L.L. group out for a tour of the winery and we all had a great time. The winery is housed in a registered heritage structure of a cottage hospital which is quite evident as you enter the bulding. The tour was fantastic, learned a lot about berry wines and the berries they use. Our hosts were quite knowledgeable and... More
