Pretty little butterfly house. We enjoyed seeing all the butterflies and a few landed on us. My children liked the other insects and moths by the entrance too. I understand there are a lot of costs running a butterfly house but it was still expensive for the amount of time you spend there compared to other visitor attractions. Perhaps expanding the outdoor garden could help or getting grants to reduce the entrance fee. As we were visiting on the way back from holiday we couldn't come and go all day. I'd combine with visiting the Rheidol visitor centre next door.

A must for nature loving kids (and adults), so many beautiful butterfly's to watch and other insects to see too. This place is small but perfectly formed and is definitely worth a visit. Wear bright clothes as the butterflies seem to like to land on those best, it’s very warm and humid inside, this is not a cheap trip (we felt it was worth the money!) but we stayed about two hours as our kids loved it.

Friendly staff, very busy. Lovely area, amazing butterflies.
Took my granddaughter, this has shrunk considerably since I took my own children. Too many people in such a small area, couldn't move at times. There doesn't seem to be any limit on numbers.

We spent an hour here in the butterfly house. It is fairly small but packed with butterflies of different colours and sizes. You could use the nectar to attract them which was nice. There is a small café on site but it had run out of sandwiches by 12.30 so we had to make do with crisps and cake. The car park was full but there is some parking by the lake a few minutes walk away.

What a magical experience, yes it’s very small but still well worth a visit and the entrance fee paid!
The staff are really nice and very knowledgeable, all of which only enhances the experience even further. There’s a little gift shop and some animals/insects on display as you first walk in, so there’s a bit more than just butterflies (if that’s not enough). You can (should you wish) let the butterflies land on your hand with the sugar water provided.
Set in a beautiful location with free parking and 4 FREE 22KW EV charging spots, provided by the Statkraft Hydropower Station Visitor Centre next door. There’s places for a sit down and a picnic too. There’s also a small cafe and toilets in the visitor centre as well, which is ideal really as your ticket allows you to come in and out of the Butterfly House all day!
Overall a really enjoyable hour or so! We will be recommending to friends and family as well as returning ourselves!

Visited today as we picked up a leaflet from our holiday home, and thought it a great activity for a rainy day. Enjoyed looking at the different butterfly/ bee friendly plants in the outside garden - always good for inspiration for our own gardens. Impressed with your locally developed species of buddleja.
Delighted to find a display of fascinating invertebrates at the entrance, with superb habitats and a knowledgeable and friendly staff member who was more than happy to discuss the set ups and methods of heating tropical enclosures.
The butterfly house was hot and humid, as one would expect for a tropical environment, hence we had dressed for the heat. Huge numbers of butterflies, and our enjoyment was aided by the useful identification guide from the reception. We spent around an hour in the butterfly house, noting different plants, food sources, and finding eggs and caterpillars munching some of the plants. Also watching some hatching and taking time to expand their wings before being released.
We then went for lunch at the cafe next door (not part of this attraction, but handy), and then went back for more beautiful butterflies and watched the fish in the pool at the end of the room.
Disappointing looking at some of the negative reviews on here - you need to take time, sit still, and enjoy the activity of the butterflies and insects

We spent so long in here! A wonderful house of butterflies, you can watch them all day. If you dip your finger in nectar, they come and sit on your hand. There is also a collection of bugs etc in the first room, and the staff are so enthusiastic about them, explaining all about them to both children and adults. Do pay them a visit.

We happened to see a sign for here on the way to Aberystwyth so dropped by on the way back. It’s an amazing place and well worth the money. We paid around £18 for two people and stayed for an hour. There was a large range of butterflies and some even landed on us. I’d 100% recommend visiting.
Additionally, there is a nice seating area outside and a reservoir close by.

What a fabulous place. Small, yes, but packed with butterflies. I've been to a bigger place with a lot less. I love photography and spent over 3hrs there, in three sessions on the same day and ticket (come and go as you please in one day). What a great place on a rainy day. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Sugar water is provided to encourage butterflies to rest on your hand, although at times they don't need any encouragement! So many varieties. DO go if you like photography, if you are really interested in butterflies and want to see different varieties, if you would like butterflies on your hand - good therapy - or if you have children who would be excited by it, time flies by and you can spend a lot of time there enjoying them. DON'T go just for a wander round, it is too short and you would be disappointed. Highly recommended.

One of the best butterfly houses I've seen, even compared favourably with one in South America. Lots of different species, set amongst lush tropical plants. It's only small but it packs a punch. Go in the morning when the butterflies are more active.
