Charters Beach not White Point

The view of the ocean is breathtaking but the service is poor and the food extremely over priced. During our most recent stay, the service was terrible - we were there for four days and it was consistently bad across the board - servers, housekeeping, menu (when they gave us the "new menu" we were excited about a dish only... Charters Beach isn't listed as an option on this website, but is definitely an option to visit. It is quiet, secluded and has the white beach of White Point. No cost. It also has a few sand dunes! Would be nice for a picnic and a swim on a hot day, or to sit and reflect on a cooker one,

Went here with family after Christmas for a few relaxing days. The cabin was very nice and cozy. The fireplace was always going and the wood supply was constantly topped up. We purchased a meal package and had the buffet for breakfast and dinner. The food is amazing and very well prepared. Much better than I was expecting. The white... More

What a place, Great people , great food , great drinks , great view. All in all the place to go in Nova Scotia. Stayed in the main lodge . Besides the chairs scrapping along the floor in the late day in the dining room , as we were in the room below the dining area. Wonderful place!

I would only return for the beach. The food is costly and not tasty. Our cabin was dirty, not properly clean and for the price very small. The staff was unpleasant and the house keeping staff did not change the bedding or remove garbage when we arrived. After making a complaint they checked the bedding and told us that it... More

We visited White Point Beach and we were happy we did. Our last visit was in August 2010 and we stayed at the resort for a week. At that time, a hurricane was on its way which made the waves really high and they were fantastic for boogie boarding and swimming. This year, unfortunately, the waves were much smaller, but... Newly removed lodge is great. Food was first class. A great location on the ocean. Cabins and rooms are a bit dated but have everything you need. A wonderful place for families, reunions, etc.. Live music in e evening.

We were in a cottage which offered us a lot of privacy but it was quite dingy except for the beds and linens which were luxurious. Why there is carpet in the cottage I do not know - it was disgusting. The furniture felt dirty and old. However, we enjoyed having a fridge, a wood stove with plenty of wood... More

A friend of mine that works at the resort invited me out to give me a tour of the main lodge, as I haven't been out since the original lodge burned down on November 12, 2011, 3 1/2 years ago as a firefighter. The new lodge opened on November 12, 2012, on the first anniversary of the fire. This building... More

Took the grandchildren to White Point for a pool day. Everything you could need for enjoying the pool was there, life belts for the tots, pool noodles, boogie boards, even life jackets. The hot tub was great as well. We all had a great day. Will definitely do this again.

Thank Christine J
