nothing special. In the middle of a big square, the fountain is the central point of that place. It is ok, but not more. Don't think, that this is a must see in Budweis.

Really nice baroque fountain. One of the dominants of the square. From the square you can also se Black Tower and Town Hall that are open for visitors.

Samson's Fountain is at the center of the town square in Ceske Budejovice. It's a large and beautiful fountain with interesting sculptures, found amid many interesting old buildings of the town square. This is one of the favorite spots to visit in the old part of town -- lots of people to watch and gorgeous architecture to appreciate. It's near... More

This Baroque fountain is one of the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic. The base consists of a stone water reservoir plan 17m in diameter. A prismatic base with four gargoyles arises from its centre. Standing on it are four figures of Atlas who are supporting a circular bowl with a sculpture of Samson and the lion. Very... More

It adds to the beauty of the square. You can sit around it and listen to the sound of the water or watch pigeons on the statue on top
