When you approch the city center, there is one bit tower, this is the Black Tower. Unfortunately we are a little bit old to climb to the tower, but it was told that the view is fantastic. We just admired the 16. century tower.

Can't say much about it except it is centrally located on the old town square in Budvar (Budweis). Did not go in, door was closed and not marked with tourist information. Beautiful though.

Quite a regular thing to do here in Czech cities, climb a tower to get a nice view and learn a bit about the city's history. But this tower provides a really great view of the southbohemian pearl.

By far the best place to see the entire town with couple stops on the way up, so that you can check the history of the tower, old bells etc.

Not much to say about the tower except that it offers the best view of the town square and surrounding area of Ceske Budejovice. Price for the tower is quite reasonable. Narrow staircase on the way to the top so make sure to take your...More

We climbed the Tower this afternoon to view the city. It is a wonderful piece of architecture!! It was built in 1553. The climb begins with two stories of a circular stone staircase. It is very narrow and steep. Above the stone staircase there is...More
