This building is across the river, away from the historic centre of Cesky Krumlov. It is not usually open, but you are supposed to be able to get the key from the adjacent cafe, when it is open. This part of the town is not...More

The synagogue is located outside of the town center on the other side of the river. We walked to it one day but it was not open and so we just walked around it. Not really worth going to in my opinion,

There is not much of the concept of a Synagogue as it is basically a shell. The building is in very good condition but not much else. The part worth seeing is the photographic memorial of the families who lived here and were taken. The...More

No one was home so we could not get inside. The cafe was also closed. The Synagogue was a bit hard to find as it is across the river from the main city in a very quiet section of the city..

Today the synagogue is not any more a place of worship. But it is very nicely shows the life of the Jews before WW II. And by the way - there are no tourists in mass around!

... there are reasons to stop by. First, it's off the main tourist path, so you'll leave some of the crush behind you and see fewer folks with selfie-sticks. Second, the building has been nicely restored. Third, for a time at the end of WWII...More

Some good historical information in foyer about the Jews in the area during Wirkd War Two. Found it interesting to read also to visit a synagogue as often most towns in Europe it's all about the churches.

As are most of the synagogues in the small towns of Europe, this one is no longer a synagogue. It’s a museum. It’s been renovated and apparently completely refurbished, so the building is quite lovely. Unfortunately, there are no Jews left in Karlovy Vary to...More
