The church is open from start June to end September. Historically is St. James most interesting then St. Barbara’s cathedral. In church doesn´t English guide, but you can lend text about this church.

PS: I want to apologize to you for my grammar, I still learn English.

The church is partially under reconstruction but it is still open to the public. Entry is free. Interior is very nice and you can have paper guide in many different languages there. Takeing pictures without flash is allowed.

I found the church more interesting to look at from a observation point uphill. You can always see the top of the church while walking around the old town. Though it's free to get in, I don't think it's a must-see place!

Supposedly, the English name is St. James and the Czech name is St, Jacob (wonder why). We sure confused a few locals (who rambled away very well in Czech but could help us with very lil English) and got highly confused in the process too. We reached this church by 16:00 and it was closed!!! So cannot comment on the interior but defntly liked the architecture of the church. Impressively looms against the blue Kutna Hora'n sky and worth a few mins to even check out the exterior architecture. There is a narrow passage from where you get beautiful views of the Kutna Hora city and the Ursuline convent n St.Barbara's spires.

Incidentally, we headed toward this church after the Silver Museum. On exiting the Museum, by taking a right on the first winding lane, you walk into one of the most beautiful old town lanes - narrow, cobbled, curved, colorful leaves drooping by, tiny wooden windows on stone buildings ...albeit short, this lane is a delight to walk in if u like some rustic scenes; straight out of 13th century and looks like technology hasn't reached here. This route would lead you to the back entrance of the church. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The wall sections below the window in the polygonal choir were covered with mural paintings in the late 15th century, featuring several angels. No charge to get in, you can make a voluntary contribution.

The listing for Kutna Hora lists this church twice, once with its English name (St James) in Czech sv Jacob. I have written a full review there but in September 2011 this church was open to visitors for a small charge.

This church which is one of the landmarks of Kutna Hora is unfortunately closed to visitors and therefore, you can only enjoy it from outside. Dating back to 14th century, the church is a combination of late Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles as a result of additions throughout the centuries. The day we were there, sun had just appeared after a strong rain and the weather was soft and someone was playing organ in the church and the sound of it had spread to all around us outside... It was a heavenly atmosphere... Once in Kutna Hora, you should go and see from outside this church, maybe if you are as lucky as we were, you would witness a similar heavenly scene, who knows....

This is a beautiful example of a Gothic building in the central part of the city, five minutes from Italian court or the main square. It is older but less visited than St. Barbara. One part of the church is nearly always under renovation. Building is a must if you really want to see original Gothic works, from pillars to vaults and some sculptures. Wooden St. James sculpture is interesting as some frescoes on the walls. Church has three naves and huge tower and is not small at all. Usually the side entrance, near the parish building is open. Small donation is not obligatory but appreciated after the visit.

View over the castle is breath taking. Standing out very well and it’s eye catching. Surrounded by the trees and houses and it looks amazing on the hill. I was unlucky because the day I went to Kutna Hora it was closed for restoration.
