Description:

If you want to learn everything there is to know about beer, come and visit...

If you want to learn everything there is to know about beer, come and visit the Pilsen Brewery Museum. It is located in the Pilsen centre in a 15th-century building with an original license to brew beer, which breathes the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. The Museum tells the story of the production, serving and drinking of beer from antiquity to the present time. Visitors aged 18 and older can look forward to tasting Pilsner Urquell beer there. On your visit to the Brewery Museum, pop in the Na Parkanu taproom, with its unique atmosphere of the 1930s. Go back in time and enjoy remarkable unfiltered Pilsner Urquell beer.

A pilgrimage

The sweet grassy smell that welcomes you as you enter is great. The tour is not too exciting, a bit slow. However, it makes you appreciate the tasting a lot more.

Wonderful walks past the most famous Czech brewery. Fascinating explanations and demonstrations of historical production of beer tasting unpasteurised and unfiltered beer. Comparison of modern and historical production. Very interesting underground spaces.

I consider that this museum should have a guide... other wise it is really boring and not as interesting as it could be

If you vist the Pilsner underground, you should combine the visit with the Brewery museum, as it is on the same place. The museum is very nice, showing the history of beer brewing in Pilsen. I really recommend!

I posted a review on the museum on the main Pilsner Urquell review page, didn't realise there was a separate one for the museum.. Suggest you therefore go to there to read my review, I think it's worthwhile. Has the same title as this.

Not very big but good museum, it depicts well the history of the town and the brewing history, if as me you don't have the opportunity to visit the Pilsner Urquell brewery it is a good alternative, and it offers a taste of the local beer

The museum is very well laid out with a lot of interesting models and exhibits. I feel that it isn't worthwhile spending time for one that visits the Pilsner Brewery which is much more interesting.

A small museum with many information on how beer was produced in the past and how the production developed till the present. Worth to visit after or before the brewery visit.
