We, as an adult family and friends visited the Prague Communism and Nuclear Bunker Tour. The Tour was great value for money and our tour guide Katerina was very knowledgeable on the history of the Czech Republic, historical sites and events. She had a mixed group (from many countries) on the tour. She got the balance perfectly correct between factual... More

The Prague Extravaganza company's communism and bunker tour was awesome! They've had recent competition bit this company was amazing. Guide was professional and spoke great English. He was candid and and polite. David answered all my questions and was equally interested in my perspective. You don't hear alot about this tour, but you should. Well worth my money and time.... Tour guide spoke good English and was very knowledgeable on the history of communism in Prague and the reason behind the nuclear bunker. First part involved a lot of walking round the city with stops at important areas from the communist era. Then we took a short tram ride out of the city to the bunker. The bunker itself was... More

Nice tour. In two hours we made a little sightseeing tour in the centre where we were shown places and memorials from soviet era. Then we took a 10 minute tram ride to just outside of the city center. There we entered a nuclear shelter-bunker. In there was also a little museum which had gas masks and other items from... More

This is a two hour tour and includes a tram ride to a nuclear bunker. The guide was excellent, spoke very clear English and was happy to answer all our questions. The impacts that communism had in Prague and the now Czech Republic are remarkable and it was great to see the key places included in the fall of communism.... More

After seeing the historic sights of the old town, we booked this tour to hear about the 20th century history of the city and its communist heritage. Mike, our guide was great and half of the tour was sights in the city, followed by a short tram ride to the nuclear bunker which was fascinating. I would definitely recommend it... More

The history of Czechia is quite complex, and rather an untold story (in Australia anyway), so this tour was very enlightening, the discussion of politics was very interesting. But the visit to the bunker was worth the whole ticket price. We also got a communist snack and a booklet full of pictures. Excellent tour, thanks Jan! Remember: 1918, Havel, 16... More

The first half of this tour is a walk within Old Town, with interesting stories of life during the communist period. Our guide was good, but unfortunately was in his 20s and so experienced none of communism's realities firsthand. Recommend you check with the tour office and get a tour with an older guide for better authenticity and real "feel"... More

I found this to be a fascinating insight into the history of the Czech Republic during the times of communism and revolution. Our wonderful tour guide, Katerina, took us round to several different sights around the city area and explained the history and significance of certain memorials, buildings and statues, which walking around during casual exploration you may easily miss.... Tourists from Hong Kong. The guide (Katarina) was really nice and friendly, introducing everything very clearly. Great to understand more about the communism we all face together. (like her jokes as well =])

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
