Very interesting, informative and well displayed information.

Be sure to allow plenty of time to really take in the wonderful history of this beautiful Castle. We enjoyed our visit as we also had discussions about the castle along the way.

It's a really small gallery- only 5 rooms, and not a heck of a lot of paintings of note. Maybe if it was included in some other pass, sure. But otherwise it's not even worth the 100 koruny entry fee. The real reason I chose to go was I need to use a washroom- and they didn't even have one... More

We didn't have but two other people in the entire gallery, a personal showing of a wonderful collection.

The main art gallery is in the Sternberg Palace, also on Castle Hill but this is well worth the 100 Kroner price of admission particularly if you like late gothic art. There are some real gems here.

There were very few people in the gallery compared with the courtyard outside making it a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of camera toting tourists. I would like to point out though to those running the place that there are insufficient signposts and boards with maps and other information. It took us quite some time to track the... More

This gallery is not huge but I found the paintings very interesting in themselves as well as for their history. One in particular caught our imagination, never having seen anything like it before. The label called it a "Grid painted triple portrait" of the three emperors, Ferdinand I, Maximilian II and Rudolf II, dated (as far as I can recall)... More

It isn't a very large gallery. There are around a 100 paintings by Italian, Dutch,Flemish, German and Czech Masters. It houses some impressive paintings, and includes works by Titian, Aachen and Rubens.I particularly liked the Assembly of the Gods on Mount Olympus. It is well worth a visit, if you like art.No photography is allowed inside.

Visited Prague recently and I would recommend very highly for anyone to go. What a beautiful city, lots to see and even though the weather wuss very cold this did not dampen our fun time away. If you planning a city break this is the place to go.

This is an interesting gallery, small, and rather focused on German and Dutch classics. The position of the gallery right at Prague Castle means it catches everybody's attention; but unless you are a Cranach fan, it is probably not really worth it. The ticket situation at Prague Castle is generally irritating. It is terribly complicated. There are meany combination optins,... More

All the paintings are very interesting. There are some paintings from famous painters, but also from local Czech painters. All of them are really nice. The place isn't big and it won't take you too much time while visiting the castle and other museums. The fee is included iin the bigger combined ticket (B) and if you have the Prague... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
