Went here as the library has been called the most beautiful in the world. It is indeed very beautiful (no photos allowed) but very well illuminated. Also very beautiful is the mirror chapel where Mozart has played. Higher up is the astronomical tower and the...More

We waited for a long time to gain entrance into the Klementinum library. We paid extra to be allowed to take pictures. Then, we realized instantly that we were not allowed to walk into the rooms of the library. That was a disappointment. Then, as...More

We visited the Klementinum for one of the many concerts available in Prague of an evening. In fact there were three in the Klementinum alone that particular night and we eventually found our way to the Mirror Chapel for a recital of Vivaldi, Bizet and...More

We went to a concert in May 2017 at the Mirror Chapel. We booked online as we weren't sure how popular it would've. In hindsight we probably didn't need to as it was only half full. It's first in first served for the seating and...More

Out of a four day break in Prague the hour long concert at the Klementinum was my best experience of all. A beautiful historic hall with the musicians from the Prague Dvorak Orchestra playing highlights from Dvorak, Smetana and more followed by Vivaldi's Four Seasons....More

You can only see the library from one side. You aren't allowed to wander around it. It is pretty though. Afterwards, they bring you up to the observatory. There are good views to be had after climbing. There were also some lovely old books on...More

The Hall of Mirrors evening concert is a MUST DO. It was incredible!! The performers were outstanding. The venue was fabulous. Great way to spend an evening. We will definitely repeat this on our next trip to Prague.

The main attraction is the library of which you will get a brief view from the door before being shuffled on by the rest of your tour group who all want to get a look. The rest of the building is quite interesting and includes...More

I only came to see the famous Baroque Library, to discover entrance was only via a designated tour & time, which included the church and astonomical tower. The library was very limited entrance, lights turned on just for the tour group, stand in the doorway,...More

Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents
the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is
bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický
square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle
in the background, is probably the most beautiful
square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere
of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and
squares, and stone towers blend together with the

So it's clear that we are not allowed to take a photo of library but how about if you pay extra? I've read somewhere that you can take a photo in case you pay for opportunity. Is it true or false? or not anymore?

No photos. It can damage the books. Yes there are those annoying people who sneak them nonetheless and don't even try to be non conspicuous by turning off the flash, thus risking destroying this for future visitors.

We are attending a concert there in a few weeks. Can someone recommend a good restaurant, within walking distance (5-10 minutes) with view and nice wine?

I suggest you buy the ticket on the door unless you think the concert is going to be sold out. I managed to negotiate a reduction on the price on the night, but this may be because there were plenty of seats available. The... More
