Def should visit! It has vendors for food and shouldn't be missed. I tried the ham,hot wine, trdelnik(dessert) and walked around during day and night time. The clock was as beautiful as the pictures others has posted and should stop by before hour strikes to see a "mini show". And this place is very accessible by bus as that was the... More

This lovely town square is charming with its combination of several architectural styles any time really. But it has a special appeal starting 4 weeks prior Christmas. The large Christmas tree is nicely lit up, there are many small stalls where one can purchase Christmas ornaments, handmade gifts, even cheap trinkets, but also hot red wine, to keep you warm... You must visit Old Town Square. The Christmas market was still in place so it was really a fun experience. There were many vendors for food and gifts. There are many restaurants and shops to visit. Lots of walking.

Although it was crowded, but this is the place you can review the old part of Prague, with the amazing Astronomical Clock. Spend time here to enjoy.

Traditional Czech style buildings. A mus see tourist attraction when in Prague. A lot of traditional food stands around the square.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit. The buildings and architecture look like a film set in the old square. I have never considered Prague before and was here to have eye lens surgery. I am overwhelmed by the whole City. It is a shoppers paradise. I will definitely return.

You can see, imposed, the grandeur of the old Town Hall the it is here that resides the amazing Astronomical clock! Nice place but crowded. Beautiful at christmas. Amazing architecture. Be careful of pickpockets. Recommended to have a guided tour to get to know the stories about this place.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
