Neighbourhood: Malá Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.

The old quarter of Prague is one of the things to visit in full once you arrive in the Czech capital. You will like the alleys, the different points of interest such as the Church of San Nicola and the Castle. There are various commercial activities present e.g

Mala Strana, or Little Town (Lesser Town) is probably Prague's most famous area along with the Old Town and a must during a stay in the city. A city that has so many attractions and can be reached by walking on one of them - Charles Bridge. Nice for a walk with small squares, restaurants, shops and other things.

Our hotel was in Lesser Town, which is a quiet less touristy spot then Old Town. The castle is located in this area as well as many local and quaint restaurants. The area has many steps and hills so be prepared and wear comfortable shoes. Great place to get lost for the day and just walk around.

We chose this neighborhood to stay and it was perfect. Safe - it has entry control for cars as it has several embassies, quiet at night and close to almost all important tourist attractions, whether on foot or by public transport. Lots of cool restaurant options (St Martin, Glaubicu). The Waldenstein garden is a must-see. There is a beautiful view of the rooftops going up to Prague Castle. Here is one of the first streets in Prague.

We stayed in the Lesser Town since it had better car access than the old town, and we found it comfortable and enjoyable to spend time in. The main Prague Castle is here, as well as other sights. We used public transit to get to and from the old town across the river and found them relatively convenient. This part of the city is an enjoyable one to visit, whether or not you're sleeping here.

West of the Vltava, you’ll find yourself in Mala Strana, a.k.a the Lesser Town. There’s so many GREATER things to do and see here, though…Petrin Park, Prague Castle, and St Vitus Cathedral to name a few. Strolling the historic streets could occupy you for hours on end. Don’t forget Vltava’s west while visiting Prague.

A beautiful area also known as "Lesser Town" with some very pretty streets and incredible buildings. St Nicholas Church is beautiful. The Nerudova street is particularly fabulous with lots of little shops, cafes, bars on the way up to the castle area. Nearest Metro station is Malostranka.

I really enjoyed Lesser Town, or Mala Strana to give its proper name. It is one of the most romantic of Prague's quarters, a collection of narrow cobblestone streets, baroque churches, green parks of luxurious palaces, and historic architecture dominated by red tile roofs.
Although a settlement appeared on the left bank of Vltava river not long after Prague Castle was founded today the Lesser town is as it became in the 17th and 18th centuries when Baroque came to Prague. Churches, palaces, and houses changed under the baroque decorations, with the wonderful Church of St Nicholas that dominates the Lesser Town as a fine example of this style.

This area has become the most beloved in Prague. This year we were lucky to be in this ancient city at the end of April - everything is young, green, lilacs are beginning to bloom. This area has it all - churches, museums, secret courtyards with gardens and peacocks, beautiful views of the city. And when night fell on the city, it became mysterious and mystical. We just wandered around, looked into hidden places, shops - and it was so good, in the Old Town I didn’t feel such unity with Prague this time - there were a lot of tourists, it smelled very much of food and beer, it was somehow hectic. Therefore, I recommend crossing the Charles Bridge and getting lost in the labyrinth of streets of the Lesser Town. It’s easier to breathe there, it smells of the river and flowers.

we pass though the Lesser town when we went to castle from the Old town side. There is Lesser town bridge tower, also has St. Nicolas church and bell tower, you can take pictures with these architecture. Also, there is Nejužší Pražská Ulička (narrowest street in Czechia).
