Wow fantastic . Not to be missed a great day trip and lots of photos to be taken. And u don't need to pay to go in the cathedral unless u want to get close to the ultra. If not you can see it all including the great stain glass windows . Fantastic .

Was it memorable, no? It's nice up there but I wouldn't think about seeing it again. I entered via where one has to walk up the steps. Which must be the back of the castle as when leaving through the front, the queues were very long. I'm no castle lover to be honest, so perhaps I'm being harsh by only... More

We visited Prague castle twice as we loved it so much! We watched the change of guards at midday which was fantastic, word of advice arrive around 15 mins earlier to get a good spot as it's get rather crowded. The castle grounds are beautiful and you can roam around at your own leisure. The grounds are free to walk... More

Prague Castle is visible from many places around the city as it sits on a hill on the Lesser Town side of the river. It can be quite a climb to reach the castle by steps, but the number 22 tram goes to the main entrance from the Old Town. It is apparently the largest ancient castle complex in the... More

The largest castle in Europe, with a huge Gothic church dedicated to St. Vito. A very nice restaurant inside the area, where we had a good lunch, with a generous glass of red wine.

Very nice attraction unique architecture... sits high up on a hill which you have to walk up... not too bad of a climb... allows you to see all of Prague city ... A few cafés and souvenir shops near the castle. Well worth the tour

The castle complex has several buildings - as with Prague in general, the architecture is stunning and the views across the city are stunning. You can pay to go inside with various tickets or just wander and soak up the architecture.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
